How tricky was the conversion to Sei stalks?

My old Cinq had the newer style stalks as fitted to the Sei so I changed everything over, you need steering column, all wiring connectors and lots of patience with a multi meter.

There are more wires on the old style Cinq stalks than the newer ones, in total i think there are 18 wires that need connected, & they are different colours so no real indication there TBH and one you don't bother with as the Cinq headlamps work from switch on dash and full beam from stalk, whereas all the light controllers are on stalks.

Thanks -- I'll see if I can find one!

I've just thought the one thing that may be a stopper on it all is the fact eth barrel is different, tho i was changing over my ECU and full lock set anyway as part of turbo conversion from old car, i'd recomend having a good look at a car fitted with the later style stalks and seeing if its worth the hassle.

I like what u did with the wing mirrors, looks ace! Did the Sei one's just fit on as straight swap? Really tidy car. So damn jealous (y)

They are not a direct fit due to different widths, what you need to do is retain the Cinq base plates, fit the Sei mirrors and then use short flat head screws to hold rubber in place on Cinq base plate, some people have left the Cinq mirror rubber in place on base plate to ensure complete weather proofing.

its covered inCinq styling section i think.

Thanks for words on car, everyone who i spoke to at Gaydon was very complimentary, which was nice, as its meant to be a usable quick car, not an out and out track car, or concours car, just an all round nice car really.

Had to add these two pics as they look ace

Absolutley awesome, I can't describe how much I love this car and how much I respect you for putting all that work and detail into it! I don't understand how you find all that time to do all these mods with a full time job, especially as you own more than one car!

Thanks for the feedback,

Yeah my car was at Gaydon, got it MOT'd on the Fri and that was its first outing.

Since Gaydon I have flocked the dashboard section that surrounds the gauges/heater controls as this section is removable. The finish is great, but messy so don't know if i would do any items still in the car as the flock goes everywhere when you spray it onto the glue, but having the whole dash flocked would be cool, add a touch of class and practical as stops dashboard reflection of windscreen.

Stereos been put back in as it was in my integrale as its Alpine HU was broken but Alpines Service dept is based in MK only 5 mins drive from my house, so got them to fix it which was good.

My next item I am seriously considering is a electronic boost controller to stop leaking away boost, as had it rolling roaded and it showed it was hitting 1bar then dropping off, and maybe a 200mm clutch as fitted to the 1368cc Fiat FIRE engineas, my 180mm uprated one is slipping with the torque in higher gears when accelerating at low down speeds, I think the 140lbs ft torque at 3200rpm has something to do with it as it 100% fine going up throuigh the gears even driving hard.

i suppose there comes a point where you think where do you draw the line...

how did you find the flocking aaron? i've a whole dash sat in garage waiting for me to be brave enough to start trying to swap it over, and have been thinking about either flocking it or spraying it black, but guess flocking would have less reflection problems :p

I would not paint a dash board, one it will look a bit cheap, and it will reflect like crazy as you say.

The flocking isn't to hard, but messy. The kit from Frost consists of glue which you paint on, a bag of flock and a plastic bottle that is used to spray the flock onto the glue, says it will cover 1m2, this i do not doubt.

You need to have an area where you can lay what ever item you are flocking away from other items and preferably on some polythene sheet or newspapers to catch the excess flock that you spray to use it again as you spray way more than actually sticks to the flock glue.

I bought extra glue and flock as i wanted to do my integrale dash, so i bought 2 extra glues and 2 extra bags of flock, but TBH the ratio is probably more like 4 bags of flock to 1 glue, so i will probably end up buying more flock and having lots of spare glue,so if you go for black let me know as i have black glue as the glue is coloured like the flock as i did think about blue, but then always got to thick about reselling the car, and the grale is defo black so made sense to do it all the same. Plus its good enough for WRC/racings cars it will be good enough for me :D
