Punto (Mk2/2b) New door builds added to my punto

Introduction

Well i finally fitted them today with some temporary wiring. These are really only temporary anyways because im doing some better ones that are painted not covered. Vinyl cannot stretch to the shape i want it to, and neither can the upholsterer in the family get it to do so! Anyway i like the design, its functional and needs to kick out that far to clear the door card, and the curve looks good with the whole pocket maintaining functionability with half pockets in each side still. The vinyl is a little off colour, its between the door card colour and the dashboard colour, but in the flesh it looks pretty god. Anyway....

P.s. these are avialable for re-production too or similar designs are available. (y)

Look good chap (y)

Dont you bash the speakers with your legs though when the door is closed?? looks a bit close if not!!

Thanks all :)

Charlie - i used cloth and resin then layerd fibreglass over and over (about 4 layers) then filler'd over that, smoothed down and spray-glued the vinyl onto them. I would recommend the stretchiest or tinnest material available for yours charlie, as ive had to fold mine at the back, even though they're fairly stretchy and thin :p

Oi - beau, you know infinitys the way to go

Kurt - Yeh have to be carefull but its not that bad, thats why i set the cross-over back a little!

Thanks again all. good to hear positive things!

in fairness mine stick out more than jordans lol. need another trial fit and pics. just an arse to fit them - stripping door down.

im going for some kinda alcantara like stuff in red, then retrim few other bits while im at it i think

Gaz - sounds like a plan :D Yeh not a problem, if you wish to send them to me for me to work them then that wont be a problem, looks like i can work them easily enough, meaning, get them angled towards the driver a little more etc. Will cost £80 for them delivered back to you re-covered or painted.
