Cheers man, much appreciated.

I'd love to strip out the rear seats, but I do too many lifts for that to be an option

Or maybe a roof rack and some ratchet straps

Anyway, update.

New daily is on the cards, it's an MG, if you really wanted to know. Would've liked to stay Fiat on that one, but the insurers seemed to have other ideas! I got some really bad quotes for the car I really wanted (MK2 Punto 1.9 JTD).

Doesn't matter now, what really matters is once the new daily is in, the red cinq goes straight into the workshop!

Queue the music

Re: "VEL" The Red Cinquecento.

Update time! I have a new daily.

Moving swiftly on, after a slightly depressing final post on my black cinqs thread, I thought i'd put a more optimistic post up here

Over the past 2 weeks, a couple of things have happened. Firstly my gearstick snapped, which is exactly as it sounds, the metal of the gearstick, just, snapped! It seems that the exact same thing has happened to @Lecook so if you own a cinq, it's probably worth pulling up your gear gaitor and checking for cracks.

Next, the clutch fell apart. So seeing as I have a perfectly good brand new 190mm clutch and 3kg flywheel on the black car, ill be fitting that I need the car for work, so ill be doing that this afternoon. Also, I fitted my dexcraft carbon fibre induction kit to this car, and it honestly makes a hell of a difference compared to a crappy silicone pipe on an 899 bob, which is what it had. Also stuck a mckritch chip in I had lying around, so overall it's much more spirited

These are the parts that i'll be fitting soon enough, loads of polybushes, PGT brakes and so on. That'll keep me busy for a while!

Engine wise, i'll be using the lightened and knife-edged crank from my old engine. I can't just use the whole engine, as the block has been cracked by the impact, I have a theory that the poly mounts had so little give, that the weakest link became the block, so it gave way. I've got a newman fast road cam, along with the ported head I have, and 40mm TB.

So just another normal 1242 build really
