hi guys im a mechanic but just thought id pop in here and ask a question.

Iv got a little 1.2 52 plate punto for my gf and iv been checking it over and there seems to be a coolant leak to which coolant appears on the right front conner of the sump and drops onto the lamda sensor now the problem is iv checked and checked again and there is no leak from the thermostat or the rear pipe at the end of the inlet manifold so this only leaves me to believe there must be a core plug of some sort behind the flywheel in the end of the block?? i cant find a pic on the net to confirm and im not gona remove the earbox just to check lol so thaought id ask the guys in the know. is coolant appearing there common?

There is a core plug there.

Not common, not unheard of. Surely the lambda sensor is nowhere near there?

the second lambda sensor the one after the cat is sat just under the front right hand corner of the block as i say it drips on to it, do u know where abouts this core plug is? just to be sure that this is where it will be coming from before i rag the box out? is it more towards the front ofr the rear of the engine? or is it central?

Pretty central on the block, more or less behind flywheel. There's one on t'other side, too (opposite end) and 4 on each side along the block.
