Re: Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

Reliability on a Rover, as if lol. I think this one had the T series engine and was one of the last British built cars which is why I still have the heap of c***, erm I mean little beauty.
It is quite fast considering its size and weight (its also a R reg) and apart from head gasket I think they were pretty decent engines (only what I've read, I dont have a clue). Its comfy and good to drive, but its nowhere near as much fun as the Cento which is why I have 2 old cars and a Punto for the wife.

Hmmmm, I have some nice orange Punto GT wheels that'd go with the Imola trim.

Very nice looking car.

Glad you finally got you car on the road/track. well worth the effort. I am enjoying the super-sprint manifold I got off you. I bet your cento is embarrassing some of the larger cars on the track days you have attendedEnjoy

Re: Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

you don't need anything special to have fun on a track day tbh. Just take your car... Just make sure its well serviced, particularly the brakes as they take a total hammering on track and perhaps some decent part worn tyres on some spare wheels to put on when you arrive and the swap back after.

Hi Daz,

Glad you're getting on well with the manifold My car definitely has the potential for worrying bigger stuff, so as I get more track experience and hone the car a bit more, I should be able to realise that potential. Only done one track day so far and have definitely identified areas for improvement!

Re: Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

Unfortunately the car hasn't seen the track since last December. Got a new MOT last week though so may still be on track before the end of this year. Has been off the road since the old MOT lapsed in May, so needs a bit more regular running to keep it from deteriorating.

Ah it will be fine, both mine spend long periods sat and they always been fine. Only issue I've really had is some not great quality rubber fuel line needing replacing due to cracking but i suspect it would have done if it was in use as well.

Re: Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

Feeling like I should get some use out of the Cinq this year, I went and did another Castle Combe track day on Monday 28th Oct. A few of my friends from the Coupe club were in attendance as well. The weather was horrible (the morning after the 'worst storm in years'), but it was a really fun day in all. The RWD cars on track (S2000, Porsche 968, Locost etc) were really tip-toeing around, making them easy targets for the little Cinq.

Some excellent photos were taken by my friend at Dannyboy Photography (dannyboyphotography.co.uk). The whole gallery can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...7518793&type=1

Here are the pictures of the Cinq. Enjoy.

James
