I got MTEC drilled and grooved discs for my t-jet (same brakes) for £130 all in. If the pads are sticking on i would check to make sure the calipers arent nackered, me and a few mates with GPs have had to replace calipers at varying miles, mine was 48k others a lot less
As for pads go for ebc greenstuff

Nah it's more like they're not making full contact really. So Green Stuff pads and any drilled vented discs. Think I can arrange that for less than 200 on all corners hopefully!

Green stuff pads are pretty much the best, i got mintex ones with my drilled and grooved, fronts were £96 for drilled and grooved discs with mintex pads not sure how much backs were, about £10 cheaper something like that so under £200 easy :) o and got them from mtec same as gymjunkie, there ebay page cheaper than there website as well :) and for your wheels rubbing if you lower it, they wouldnt, ive got 18/35/225 tyres and lowered it about 60mm bit of a hard ride but no rubbing unless you got couple of fattys in the back. P.S cars looking good :)

The punishment of driving through Scotland's wilderness. That was one dirty road.

Ignore the other half somehow attempting to hide.

Haven't posted any updated pictures so figured why not.

Currently have a really bad crash bang and wallop noise whenever the front passenger wheel hits a bump which is bone crunching. So much so it's making me nervous to drive fast. Round round roundabouts when the weight shifts to that side it always makes the crashing sound.

And the passenger window won't go up. Goes down. But not up. So it's wedged up now.

Hasn't been a good year let me just say that.

Decided to bite the bullet and send her in for a check up. Getting the window sorted, turned out it's a regulator so needs replacing.

The wheel alignment needs done since it's vibrating and pulling at 60mph.

New front tyres going on for the winter.

Need to look over the drop link, shock, ball joint and track rod to get to the bottom of the bumpy front near side issue.

So with luck everything will be sorted out either Monday afternoon on Tuesday!

Cheers man. Once I get this work done I'll be more keen to get it prepped for winter. Right now with all the problems I've not even bothered washing her for over 2 months it's got me bloody sick of it to be honest.

Well the car's been in the garage for all of it's problems, it's like sending it to rehab!

Window wasn't going up due to several breaks in the wiring loom so that's being sorted.

The bumping is a result of the front nearside bump stop actually being missing, goodness knows how that's happened.

My hard brake isn't working because the offside rear calliper is totally ceased and needs replacing.

All in all it's going to cost me £400 (inc Parts & Labour).

So hopefully when it comes back I can look forward to some more years out of it since I've been considering trading it in for the past 6 months since all these issues started cropping up one by one.

Well went and collected her this evening. Joyous is the only word to describe it. Full car rewired so no more window problems or hatchback open messages. Rear calipers replaced and handbrake cable replaced. Wheels balanced and aligned. Near side front suspension totally redone and no more bumping noises. Feels like a totally new car and handles amazingly once more. Might of cost half a grand to put it all right but hopefully it'll be a few more years of hassle free Fiat motoring.

Anyways the cars fixed and all the things are Rosie for those not wanting to read the mushy I love my car paragraph above lol.

Guys I'm looking for advice. Went to purchase new tyres today and I've been told 2 of my alloys are completely ****ed. They're bouncing all over the place when they're being balanced. Long story short, I need new rims. Going to go for a full house. Question being, where is a good place for rims and tyres. Money is tight just now as it is for everyone. Ideally as cheap as possible if I can get away without meaning the tyres will be all over the damn place. Any help is always appreciated.

Jesus, reading this has put my off getting a new punto! They seem to fall apart :(

Don't let that put you off! All cars have their faults, some more serious than the other. For the age/ mileage of the car you can't not expect to have to spend money to keep the car on the road. I'd take a look at the pinned post for common faults if you have any queries, but rewriting the car is uncommon.

If you want to replace the whole set I'd put yours up on flebay, and have a look at the genuine fiat accessories website as they have all of the alloys. For my 17inch, 5 spoke two tone alloys would cost £800. Pricey I admit, but a good set of alloys can make a good car great!

Also, if the tyres are okay, you can swap them onto your new alloys!

Alternatively, I'd have a Browse through tinterwebs and see if you can find a breaker who may have a couple, or a whole set of alloys for sale. *word of warming* have a look at the alloys with your own eyes before committing as you could end up with knackered alloys before you start.

Hope this helps:)

Cheers guys. Managed to get upto Skidz in Falkirk. Got myself a full set with tyres for £400 so happy with that. Only thing is the fella put 215/40R17 on the rims. He said it was fine but I've always ran on 215/45R17. Knowing nothing whatsoever about tyres I've gathered you're allowed about a 2-3% difference in the total wheel diameter before you have problems. Can anyone back this up?

Got a full set no problem. Just in the process of waxing them up and getting a few coats of Autoglym SRP to save me having to use much elbow grease later to clean the crap off them.

Pictures will follow tomorrow after I've cleaned the paintwork too.
