Havent posted in a while been looking for a new car (something a bit bigger). Thought i would have a go at changing the speedo, rev counter etc to a different colour as others have done on here. Sticking with the blue theme...

Heya m8 im loveing what you have done to the lights that is exactly what i want to do with mine. Have you tinted the rear boot lights and if so how did you do it?

Also what did you use to paint the inside of the headlights? looking at yours done makes me more certain that i am going to do mine.

Cheers mate. Yeh the rear ones are tinted, they are actually mk2 lights coz didnt wanna risk ruining mine. Usual way mate with tint spray masking off the reflectors. One coat at a time gradually building up until you get your desired darkness. As for the headlights just standard prima, satin black spray and lacquer :)

Yer i know how to do the lights that run down the side but its the "lights" on the boot lid that i am interested in how you did it? whther you managed to split them or you simply tinted the outside.

Oh rite did you have to sand the silver away or did you spray on top?

Ah right with you now. I just tinted them fella. Sprayed on top of the silver mate, was tempted to sand it away as i was worried it may flake off but it seems to be fine, been on my car a couple of months now and no signs so all good.

Oh rite has it not marked or come off? Cool thats sounds simple enuf as the only thing that will possibly reuain it is temperature difference. Also what sealnt did you use to seal the headlights back up?

Yeh i dont think it reaches a high enough temperature to affect the paint. I used tiger seal. Def worth doing though :) let me know how you get on

I have a spare set of lights if your interested mate and didnt want to risk yours. Was tempted to do these ones black aswell and sell them on ebay might get a bit more.

ill buy them off you if you do them, iv wanted a pair for ages and never get the chance to do them.

aslong as they dont have any yellow corrosen on the outside and have no scratches on them?

thanks pm me if u want

rob did you have to drop your frount bumper to get the headlights out? i have a feeling on my active sport you need to drop the bumper :(

let me know
