Bravo My Bravo Sport-R.

Introduction

After being away from the forum for a while, I finally got the time to come back and show-off my new machine: a Fiat Bravo Sport R 2.0MJet with 165bhp, which has kept me grinning since last Friday when I got him

Here are the first pics:

Will get better ones when the weather gets better and when I stop being lazy :D

what new headlights  You've the best the Bravo has :)
The ones that are factory fitted since 2010 with the dark interior...

These:

They changed the projector lenses, there's a massive diference in the lighting! (y)

He probably has no idea how lucky he is to have the expensive factory xenons.
Trust me, I know exactly how lucky I am!! HID come very handy when you have to drive 430km every Sunday night to go to work! :(

But I know I can still improve the lighting! I'm going to try 55w lamps to see if it makes any difference... After that, I'll try to get my hands on a set of normal headlights and tear them apart to see if the projector is compatible with my headlights... (y)

But I'll have to grow a massive pair to open my headlights (700€+ each!!! )

How do you know they changed them? I don't think they changed anything other than the colour.

I'd advise against tampering with the standard xenon lights, they're already million times better than aftermarket HID.

A friend of mine (he commented earlier on the thread, kiax69 iirc) had a head-on collision and changed had the new ones fitted... The dealer where the car got fixed told him the differences between the old and new headlights... And we can actually see the difference, he fitted aftermarket HID similar to the ones he had before the crash, and it's waaaaay much better than before! (y)

I know I shouldn't tamper with it... But I'm really curious to see how noticeable is the difference... I found an ebay store selling 55w D1S HID kits, and before spending any money on them, I'll see if it's worth it...

Maybe that's the case for the normal headlights but not the Xenon ones, they appear to be exactly the same on the new model and I don't see how they can improve on the old xenons, they're already very good.

I think the previous lenses were too restrictive... I honestly feel that I have worse lighting with these headlights than I had with my old (and missed  ) Mk2 with aftermarket HID or even with good lamps :(

Or perhaps its because your current ones are correctly setup, and your aftermarket HID setup, like most, was incorrectly adjusted, and probably dazzling other road users. Your old HID setup would not have been Bi-Xenon, so can't have been better on main beam.

My old setup was adjusted with a proper device... I actually went to 3 different garages until they got it right...

Bi-xenon? I only have HID on the main beam, on high beam I have a normal lamp

The factory fitted xenon on the bravo are bixenon because when you switch to high beam, the xenon lenses tilt up, the high beam projectors also turn on but they're just sidekicks.

You see, I was right, you don't know how lucky you are :)

Really love this car!! Got a Sport 1.4 myself. and the headlights have changed they are black on the inside, i was up at fiat on the weekend and noticed it and also all the black trims like grill and foglight surrounds are now gloss black!! very nice!! (y)

Where did you get your spacers and are they hub-centric?
I went for the Beilstein B14 coilover kit and would strongly recommend it, however would love be able to go lower at the back. so going to try get smaller bump stops!

And lastly, did you find any bulbs that dont bring up errors cause I have had about 6 sets and all of which just bring up errors...

Keep up the work man cars looking great!!

Thanks mate :) Do you notice any difference in lighting quality when comparing your headlights (the grey ones) to the "older" ones?

I got my spacers from a local store, but you can find spacers and all sorts of
other goodies at FK Shop... (y)

I'm going to buy lowering springs at first, I'm still posted 450km away from home and the missus gets to drive the car when it's not my turn to take it to work... And she's not very careful when it comes to speedbumps and potholes :bang:

Unfortunately, I still haven't found any LED bulbs that won't trigger the error... I mean, when I had only the front LED lights, they worked fine, no error, but when I got the license plate lights as well, the car detected all four of them... I even tried some resistances (right word?), but all I managed to do was to blow up a fuse and get warned by the gentlemen with the blue uniform for not having license plate lights on

I still have a lot of mods planned on the car, but working so far away I haven't got much tim€ left for them...
