Introduction

Well this is how my car is progressing :)
Day 1:

then i got a debadged grill and little number plate altough i got pulled for it after two weeks(n)

then came along some new alloys :D oh and white mirrors

next was a GSR induction with Forge breather pipe and Samco coolant pipe :D



Next was to lower on Eibach sportlines as recommended by most on here

then i got sharks fin aerial - not to everyones taste but i like it

then i got edge speakers and an MTX sub :slayer:



and i still have a leon cupra splitter in the garage to go on and some 6000k hi/lo HIDs :D

:yum: Looking good so far Matt, have you sorted the seats out yet?

I think they're the abarth fronts i was watching on ebay, but i decided not to spend any more money on the car, other than stuff that is necessary of course, as i'm thinking of changing later in the year :-(

i have to make my own custom brackets for seats and i have made some rough ones but need to round the egdes and paint the black so they look nice then fit seats

i bought them on the abarth forum :)

would u get another punto or summit different?

I'll be getting something similar, but not a fiat, i've owned Fiat's for the last ten years, so time to try something different :D.

I've been looking at the Astra Sport hatch 1.9 cdti SRI 150 on ebay and autotrader, uses pretty much the same engine as the GPS, so should be as reliable, hopefully better build quality. It's the car i wanted at the time of getting the GPS, but they were a bit more expensive at the time, hence the GPS, not that i regret buying the GPS, it's been pretty much a good car overall, mostly minor issues, just the build quality is not really that good.

I'd get pretty much like for like, so similar reg, maybe 6 months newer, and similar or slightly less mileage, around the 50K (ish) mark. There are plenty of options available should i wish to modify it too, and parts should be cheaper too lol.

Good luck with the seats they do look really nice, and a bargain too, i've seen similar go for more than double (y)

car sounds good mate
few of my mates have astras, one of which has the Vauxhall Astra VXR Nürburgring Edition which is gorgeous
but yh nice cars mate and u dont see as many of them as GPs
yh i took one seat to fiat and they valued them at £1300(y)

as for the Astra, I was going to get the 1.9 150 but got the GPS instead as I could get the top of the range spec for the same money, compared to the standard SXi or SRi Astra which cost a lot more.

Yeah that's pretty much the reason why I ended up in a GPS cause the astra was more expensive and yet for the money I could get top of the range sport GP.

Oddly enough it was the Mrs who spotted the GPS lol.

My turn to pick a car now seeing as she picked the last 2 and both have been fiat lol (y)

:eek: £1300 for one seat - blimey bargain of the century then :D

The nurbergring vxr is really nice. Have you seen that massive thread on detailing world about some bloke with a nurburgring vxr, he bought it new and spent hours/ days/ weeks detailing it to beyond perfection lol

haha wish it was
its £1300 for both seats lol so still a massive saving of £900 :D
oh i have nearly got the mounts sorted for my seats :)

and nah i havent seen that car may have a lil look for it :p
