Panda 100HP OEM+

Since my 'Readers Ride' thread has been closed and I don't use any other part of the forum apart from this section I thought I would post up some pictures of my 100HP along with the specification.

I have owned the car for nearly three years and in that time I have changed a few bits here and there to adapt the cars looks to my taste.

I am not a fan of modified cars so I have went doen the 'OEM+' route to keep that car looking factory standard but a little more individual!

Full Specification

Year - 2007
Make - FIAT
Model - Panda (169) 100HP
Color - Rhumba Red (199)

Modifications

Exterior

Black Rear Spoiler
Black Wing Mirror Covers
Red Brake Calipers
Fiat OEM Left Hand Drive O/S Rear Light Cluster
Fiat/Abarth Rear Number Plate Surround
Citroen C5 Short Aerial
Black Wheel Nut Covers
Bosch AeroTwin Front Wipers
De-Wipered Rear
Philips X-Treme Power H4 Bulbs
Philips BlueVision W5W Bulbs
Philips Silver Vision Indicator Bulbs
X-Tec Chrome Rear Fog Light 21W Bulb
Custom Rear Window Sticker

Interior

Fiat OEM 'Panda' Car Mats
Fiat OEM Aluminum Sports Pedals
Fiat OEM Phone/iPod Holder
Custom Tax Disc Holder
Spare Alloy Wheel with Custom Boot Carpet

Under the Hood

Fiat OEM 'Panda 16v' Badges
K&N High-Flow Air Filter
Castrol Edge Sport 0w-40 Oil
NGK Spark Plugs
Shell V-Power Fueled

Suspension

Spax SSX Spring Kit (-25mm)

Wheels and Tires

Fiat OEM 'Pandamonium Pack' Alloys (Including Spare)
GoodYear Eagle F1 GSD-3 195/45 R15

Overall I am really pleased with all the subtle changes I have made to the car and I personally think they all add up to improve the overall appearance.

I think for the time being Project Panda is complete as any other changes that I would like to make would cost more money than I am willing to spend.

So for now I am going to enjoy the car for what it is..........an Awesome Angry Panda!

I was going to ask why your Members Motors thread had been closed but I understand now ... that particular rule doesn't just apply to that section AFAIK ...

Nice looking car btw

Fantastic example which is obviously much loved ! I am contemplating fitting Spax springs to mine - could you advise what changes you encountered and if any further work was required once fitted e.g. suspension geometry etc ?

Thks for the feedback

Thanks!

The only noticable change I felt after fitting the springs was a reduction in pitch and roll in the car.. The car now stays much flatter when braking and cornering which is a good thing.

The ride is pretty much the same as the standard springs so its no worst than what it was before.

Once the springs were fitted I got a full geometry set-up done to ensure everything was as it should be. The car is running within its limits on the Camber and Toe but the Castor is slightly out due to the -25mm drop.

Re: Panda 100HP OEM+

Car looks very tidy. How many miles has it done?

Not sure I'd have done away with the rear wiper. I assume the dampers are standard? Failing something more drastic that included softer rear springs and that rear anti-roll bar that most of us would like, my first mod would be to fit rear dampers with adjustable rebound to deal with that sharp lift of the rear end after hitting a bump, especially mid-bend.

A very minor but useful mod that I've done to umpteen Fiats over the years is to stick black self-adhesive carpet on the arm rests and inside the door pockets - the first is much easier on the elbow and the second prevents some annoying rattles.

Members Motors section is there for a reason - not to be bypassed by posting back in the 'wrong' section.

As for hosting, well that rule is in place for a reason too! BUT I am feeling generous and seeing that there are only 9 pics or so, I will rehost for you and move this thread to the correct section.

Thread locked for now - will sort out soon enough

EDIT - thread re-opened, pics rehosted

Yeah I'm a member over on DW!

My real registration plate has another two character in it which I have edited out but they sit perfectly with the car.

Rear plate holder can be found here and the aerial is from a Citroen C5.

The car currently has 27000 miles on it. Rear wiper removal was purely for looks and alot of RainX has to be applied to make up for it. Rear dampers are standard.

I've not 'detailed' the car so to speak, I know I've only had it three years lol.

The car could do with a proper machine polish but I've waxing it every so often to keep it looks its best!

I have previously made the same comment - the car looks superb and is a real credit to you

However, while the rear end looks cleaner without the wiper, there's no way that I would be without mine in this weather. Travelling one junction on the motorway and the rear window is obscured [and yes, my windows are als Rain X treated].

What other changes would you consider if money was no object?

Thats a dangerous question to ask lol, but to be honest not much. I'll put it into sections like I have above to give you an idea.

Exterior

N/A

Interior

Abarth 500 fronts seat re-trimmed in 100HP cloth.

Under the Hood

N/A

Suspension

KW Variant 1 Coilover kit

Wheels and Tires

N/A

As you can see only two changes but very expensive ones!

Ah Im steadily catching the detailing bug, not to the extent of machine polishing but I am getting there.

Re: Panda 100HP OEM+

I love the angry Panda sticker on the back it really suits the car. I think it would look even better with the newer red Fiat badges with it being a red car.

And I have just read that you have put Pandemonium pack alloys. I have mentioned this before that apparently the Pandemonium pack has a different finish on the alloys. I have that pack on my car and the alloys are the standard colour. Looking at the pics your alloys look the standard colour too. Not sure where this idea comes from, unless earlier cars did have them. I have never come across any pics of a car with different colour OEM alloys though.
