Home made replica Abrath arch extenions
Manifold Head Wrapped
Limo black back windows

Were to start off
At the start of the cars life it was a 899cc then when my brother and his mate got hold of it it started going thought a few changes
first change 1242 cc engine out of a punto then some more cosmetic mods started comeing along like 60mm lowring kit on gmax spings and dampers , matt had some 15" multipoke alloys on , and he fitted reclining bucket seats in to it , Uno turbo rear disk conversion
Matt fitted cinquecento Abrath Rear spoiler
Cinq sporting rear liight ( no pictured)
This is what it looked like ( bucket seats not in pics)

back in 12/10/07 Matthew gave me this car , as he could not affored to run the turbo and this one on the road at the same time + it gave me a car to learn in so the 15" alloys came off and l plates stuck in
and it looked like this

got the test past and then the modifications started comeing a bit faster , our friend was scrapping a sei abarth so we took that off him and thats where i got my sei abarth seats from

and i bought some wid deflectoers

14" alloys form the abarth
the wheels needed a bit of a refurb so Matt gave it a go at refurbing them

then me and matt bought a set of gauges off ebay to keep a eye on the oil temp and oil pressure

now the Center console is not wrapped in tape like it is in the pics .

then we put the abrath seats in the frount,
I bought a Bmc Cda off Brooky ( ff and cc) and it came with some sillicone hose and a Shiny bob

We also made a carbon map sensor cover and bracket and my dad made a pully cover

i Bought some larger disks and calipers im sure the calipers came off the merea 100

had a dyno run on the car on the 30-9-09 and the car produced are 83.45 hp and 94.55ft-lb of torque

While driving round my exsaust started to sound REALY loud so when i got home , the next day we investgated to find...

So with matts turbo being off the road and that haveing a perfect janspeed on so start of the morn it looked like this ...

end of the day , RIGHT before going to a car show that night it looked like this .

Fitted Cinq sporting Head Lights
then i had a offer of a window tiner to tint my windows for 60 so i thoought id buy the tint and give it a go our selfs , in top gear style it was "how hard can it be" ?
in the end result i was happy with them , i know i have a few air bubbles , but hey it was our first go at tinting
pass Rear

Drivers Rear

christmass day i ran down the stairs like evry little kid dose and there was a nice big box waiting there with a little pice of paper coveing up a web site all i could see was (a website link) ripped that off and it was strutbracer. opedn the box and there was a strut brace waiting to to go so i think that got fitted asap

i seen connerboy selling some Speedlines , so a message was sent to him to bargin him down on price , next morn i had a nice message waiting for me ... so i orgninsed to go pick them up
picked them up knowing they werre tatty , i was going to use them as my winter wheels

the tyres what came on them were jsut too big , so im just saveing up for some GOOD tyres for next winter and while its summer we are refurbing them , so my abraths are back on

First of all some of you may of seen at standford hall
Home nadewidened Abrath Front arches..

Followed by Home made Abrath Rear arches .

then some Home made horman Rep skirts

And thats how its sitting now

So i owe my bro and my dad Quite a big Thanks

Mpi is for the futuure upgrades tho

Re: My blue 899cc cinquecento

beleve me there is a big difference between spi and mpi, when i first put my second 1108 engine in with the chipped ecu and 866 and 40mm TB and a few other tricks (dyno'd at 80.9hp) with spi it was quick but lacked the torque i now have with a stock 1242 mpi

yeah i agree keep the black bumpers lol, oh and i too love the arch projectors, were they difficult to make and get fitting sooooo well????

FYI, the stock 1242 SPi (Punto 60) lump has about a 33% increase in torque over a standard SPi 1108. There's where the main difference lies; the 1242 is essentially a stroked 1108, hence more torquier.

this i am aware of and ok yeah a stock 1242spi is better than a stock 1108 but the point i was trying to make and got totally wrong lol is that surely a stock 1242mpi is better than a tuned 1242spi?????

from what i have learned and read up on that the mpi head has bigger and better valves over spi plus biggier TB iirc, if if the OP idea is to go mpi at some point then he will be able to tell use better than most which he thinks is better lol

hmmmmmm i may have to go to newcastle via carlisle lol

Re: My blue 899cc cinquecento

maybe he did it a while ago and its alot easier to source part, also you can run a 1108/1242 spi on a 899 ecu

if OP was to go for a mpi set up a 16v engine would be easier and cheaper to get more power out then a 8v engine

Re: My blue 899cc cinquecento

As young James said, this conversion was done several years ago when his brother owned it.

If you had a sorted 1108 there is the case for the SPi 1242; you can build an engine which would be bang on for a road lump IMO using the trick parts from the 1108.

If you were starting from scratch with a standard 1108 and all out tuning/FI was on the cards, then the MPi would be the better starting point. The standard SPi injector is reaching full duty cycle at 80 odd bhp anyway.

What I took issue with was that you implied that the difference in performance between your 1108 and your 1242 was the fact that the 1242 has an MPi system. That IMO, is the minor advantage; the extra stroke of the larger lump is the major advantage IME.
