So... what do you all think?
ring em up WTF are you playing at , are you lost , i want a refund
the guy who sold me the exhaust set up the courier.
long story cut short:
guy orders next day delivery... they never turned up to pick it up- blame it on delays from back logged orders caused from snow etc. he asked for refund as they told him it would be 10 days... few days later he get the refund and sets up new courier... eventually they collect late thursday evening for next day delivery... friday comes and no parcel... get tracking number and says due date is today... get home from work, still nothing, check tracking and says delivery problem so i call em up... "package was never collected".
guy who sold the exhaust say it was and called them himself... they say same thing and he tells them it was so they say they will look into it and get back to him by 5 tonight.... now i wait.... after 2 weeks of waiting....:bang:
obviously a lot of this is whats been said from the other guy so doubt is running through my head and tempers are starting to boil....

Well little update, finally got my coupe alloys fitted. bit of rubbing on full lock but looking at ways to stop that, either by lower profile tyres or doing something with the arch lining. any ideas or links to cheap tyres would be good. tyres fitted at the mo are 205/50/16s.

so what ya think?

have you fixed the rubbing? cause i have the exact same problem and i have no idea how to fix it, apart from buying lower profile tyres than that are on there now! so if possible could you tell me what you did :D
thanks

short and sweet.... i got low profile tyres. lol. fitted 195/45/16's all round keeps the rolling radius as close to the original steels as can be done on 16 inch rims so speedo isnt out.

depending on where its rubbing, u could fit spacers, remove the arch liners or roll the arches... easiest and best option is to just buy suitable tyres.

im not sure, i might try it but im not sure if the wheel is too wide for the arch, as theyre alloys that i got from a fiat bravo..

at the moment the wheels are
205/55/16's

yeah, they far too big. invest in 195/45/16 tyres all round. speedo will be on track, wont get any rubbing and wont be putting any strain on the gearbox or wheel barings etc.
ride will be a little more harsh as there is less give in low profile rubber, but the positives outweigh the negatives in this case.
if ur current tyres are in good nick, u can always ask the tyre fitters to give u them back and u can sell em to get back some of ur expense. only downsize to our size alloys is they are costly compared to most other sizes. 14s, 15s and 17s are cheaper to wrap.

it only rubs when im on full lock, its like the wideness of the alloy or the thickness of the tyre is to thick/wide.
its not the height thats a problem as the suspension is fine.
i think its catching the wheel arch when im on full lock, so which is why im thinking like you said, maybe a more low profile tyre should be ok..

yup. the rolling radius is too big. mine has also rubbed a little on the rear suspension arm as well.
just for future reference tho, post this sort of question in the main punto forum so any answers can be of help to everyone. also check out the search button as well. can often find ur answers in old posts. google is always a good engine to use for this site too and can sometimes find posts better than the forum search engine.

got my cambelt etc done today. apparently it was in a pretty bad shape and had perished pretty bad. got lucky that it didnt snap and changed it when i did really. lol. least its sorted now for another 4 years. they even managed to sort out the clicking on the check strap... just need to try find an original pin to do the job properly as its got a make do bolt there at the moment. lol.
now... to look into that damn backbox and find out where it is.....

If i were you id put in a major complaint to which ever courier is dealing with it and see if the guy who sent it can get some/all of his money back. Also bug them everyday maybe even a couple of times a day and when they get sick of you they will try really hard to find it and get it sent so you dont annoy them anymore lol and also which courier is it just so i know not to use them ever? lol

he used parcel2go.. the courier... or should i say couriers who are dealing with it are uk mail (who claim it was never collected) and citylink (who apparently collected it as they were closer at the time). just waiting to find out out the guy managed to get in touch with city link and get a tracking number etc....

on a different note, i just ordered me a hawk remote central locking kit. (y)
also tempted to order some upgraded door speakers... just not sure which ones yet.

Ah fair enough, i hope it gets sorted or you at least get your money back or something!
oh cool i was thinking about getting one of them so let me know how easy it is to fit

hopefully very easy... im crap at electronics wiring... but seem to manage with my electricals which are like spaghetti junction behind the desk. lol. there is a guide here for what i think is the older version of the kit, so hopefully it isnt to dissimilar to that.

starting to get impatient and annoyed... still not heard back from him about the back box... been on the hunt for another backbox incase he has f*cked me over. prob is not being able to find one thats less than 50 quid, and even then its the really cheap universal ones...i feel a migraine coming on. lol
