right here it is got the ehgine now so plan is to put punto gt3 engine into the cinq

so here is the plan so far gt3 plant and bag of cogs along with wiring loom

this is the plan

engine:-
gt3 engine (possibly lightened and balanced but otherwise stock(for the moment))
turbo will be the stock ihi turbo (for the moment)
manual boost controller
fse power boost valve (or similar)
stock gt3 intercooler
custom boost piping
2"1/4 custom exhaust with side exit
gt3 fuel pump
custom exhaust mani (wrapped)
sports cat

Suspension:-
apex -40mm (with possibility of punto springs on front for extra weight)
punto gt 14's in anthresite
powerflex poly bush all round
gt front brakes with drilled and grooved discs
gt rear brakes with stock discs and pads
upper and lower custom strut braces
rear anti roll bar (if i can source one)

Inertior:-
stripped out
rollcage
bucket seats with 4 point harnesses
modified dash with gauges to keep an eye on the engine

well thats the plan so far and i already have most of the stuff just not the seats and the rollcage will be a custom job but cant do that until the seats are in because of the door bars work will start on this, this week at some point i will get pics up as i go and before anyone says yes i know and i am very aware that this is going to be a hard project but lets face it if it was easy everyone would be doing it and then in turn i wouldn't,

oh one of the headaches i have already come across is the clutch, on the standard cinq box its cable but on the gt3 box its hydrolic (spits, evil horrible things) but looking at it i can convert it to cable very very easily which means i dont need to plumb it in (thank god) all i have to do is mock a bracket up and modify the clutch arm.

drive shafts again are going to be custom made going to be going to see a company for a price this week.

i think the first step i am going to take is fitting the front brakes and wheels this week

ok been to the machine shop to see about getting the block cleaned so, that is getting stripped tomorrow and hopefully going in end of the week for a good clean the question i have is do i get it bored out for more capacity or not hmmmmm we shall see i will have a word with the bloke when i am in there, in the mean time going to fit the gt brakes and wheels this week end so will then get some idea of how it will look when done

was looking at it today and i have no idea how i am going to change gear cause it looks like the gt box changes totally different to the cinq so think i need a gt gear lever but we shall see

also need to decide on what size exhaust pipe to use do i stick with the 2"1/4 or do i do it with the plan of big power and go for 2"1/2

ok so spent most of the day stripping the block down getting ready to take it to the machine shop and thought i would do it in the garden to take advantage of the good weather

so here it is the block stripped and in roughly a million bits

i have decided not to get it bored out yet just going to keep it stock for the mo but when i can afford the fordged pistons i will be going for 81mm and getting it bored out

so thats it till the weekend when i get it back and set about rebuilding it

also wheels and gt brakes will be going on the front at the weekend so will have some pics then off the block cleaned and the gt 14's on

ok came to start work on the car today and decided to do the rear wheels bearings and new shoes and drums as the hand brake has been abit dodgy and what should have been a 1hr job ended up taking 4 f**k**g hours :bang::bang::bang::bang:

so the building of the engine will start in the next few days when my head is chilled out abit

BAMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just been shot down and its a biggie and i am now in a difficult situation and dont know what to do.

just been hit by a big finacial tighten up that i was not expecting and ouch it has hurt, and unless i can come up with an extra source of funds i might be on hold for awhile

watch this space

right i have made a dessision and this is going ahead weather it likes it or not i will worry about money later i have almost everything i need

all i need is 2"1/4 exhaust pipe to custom make the exhaust and a wiring loom

i also need a couple of other things but i will get them as i go

if i need to i will sell my spare kidney to do this lol i will regret it too much if i dont

as for the rear hubs and brakes, wow what a difference 3 clicks and the back wheels are locked its great and they are no longer sticking either it has made such a difference to off the mark pull

no not yet but i have a company in newcastle that will do the drive shafts when i have the measurements but as you have guessed i need the engine in place before that can be dealt with and i have been looking, i really do think that the engine mounts are the way to do this instead of modifing the inner wing, it seems like the hard way to do it, as far as i can work out the drivers side mount is only out by a couple of inchs so i am going to look at what i can do with that in stead

right time to pull my fingure out, had alot on and haven't been able to get the block together but i finally have all the bits in the same place rather than half at the girlfriends and half at mine, so here we go today the engine will be back together well mostly, lol it will have all its internals back in but before i start a friend once told me a few years back, when rebuilding an engine you should use dry oil on everything, was he pulling my leg or is this a real thing? and should i use it or just coat everything in oil as i rebuild?

also i have had my boost gauge arrive so that will get fibreglass moulded into the dash along with an air/fuel, oil pressure and oil temp gauges.

these will get moulded in where the heater controls are at the mo but since i am taking that out i will fill the gap with gauges and turbo timer and boost controller
