Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

Update: Dynamatted the boot

I started off by doing the back boot panel

I then moved on to doing the boot, around where the spare wheel goes. I had to take this out and clean out everything.

Let the Dynamat begin!

Here are a few shots of the boot fully dynamatted!

Then i cleaned up the spare wheel (applied tyre shine!) and tools and put it back in.

And here is a picture of the boot, with my Sub and amp in it.

Hopefully tomorrow i will have the wood carpeted and a second amp powered up to power the front components :D

Let me know what you think (y)

Yes MTX are very good. They are more aimed at the 18-26 market, they pack a big punch and are very good, especially for the price. As puntodriver1991 pointed out they also make the worlds largest subwoofer, The Jackhammer.

He was replying to Burtz lol

I didnt see his post!

Aaa well whatever, i just emphasised on the point.

Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

gotta say the audio's looking sweet in your car so far. I'm looking to do a similar thing with mine and finding the pics useful, cheers.
just confused about where your mounting the tweeters: in the pillars or in orignal location on the door??
how have you gone about making the enclosure for them?
thanks

Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

Beautiful, mate! I love this punto! Those black bumpers look really well, they're so uncommon over here, let alone on a Blu Teseo coloured one... Wow! And the work you had with the ICE part is totally worth of notice! :D

I'm loving your project... Reminds me of mine, a bit!

Thankyou (y)

Well for the moment they are in the original location, but its not the best of positions. They will eventually be in the top of the doors but with custom mounts/positioning etc - in other words i will be cutting into the original mounts and modifiying it.

Thanks a lot! :D I hate the black bumpers! - would much prefer the colour coded ones like you have.

Your punto is lovely, those alloys look wicked in black, might see if i can find a set to paint! :)
All you need is some MK2B rear lights and a rear sporting/ abarth spoiler and then it will be perfect (y)

Updates to come soon when photos are uploaded, boot and door panels are now filled with dynaliner and one side has been put back on, took ages!
Colour coded door mirrors and handles :D
And pictures of my boot with twin amps and a sub. But its still really messy so i have a sly picture where you cant really see all the wires!;)

Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

Here are the pictures!

Boot:

Colour coded door mirrors/ handles:

The finish on them is wicked, im really happy with them :D (where done at a bodyshop!)

Dynaliner on the back boot panel:

And on the doors:

Let me know your thoughts/ improvements (y)

Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

Haha! Steel wheel! I love those XD

They can really give a racer look to a car... These days, cars are all full of bling bling alloys...

I don't quite like the handles like that, they look kinda out of context with the contrasts in the car... I guess once you get those colour coded bumpers you wanted, it might seem better! The mirrors are an excelent job!

Great job on the insulation and sound man!

Ha yes a boy racer style, which is not good!

Ive got some fiat original trims to go back on soon!

Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

Quite a nice car :) i dont know why but i like the contrast between the black bumpers and the colour of your car  maybe because i hate the black strips on mine (n), nice job on sound proofing aswell. Did your sub rattle your car before you fitted sound proofing ? a few people i kno have that sub setup and ther rear number plate starts rattling after a while! obviously you dont have it on full blast all the time tho lol phil

Cheers mate your car is very nice (y)

I dont like the bumpers lol

Yes it did a bit, but the sound proofing also helps with sound quality. No my rear number plate doesnt rattle as its on the bumper, but my rear windscreen wiper does, like crazy lol so i might take it off!
The rear boot panel doesnt rattle at all now with the dynamat and dynaliner on it (y)

What they have the MTX sub and amp?

Re: sdb-punto Punto MK2

Yea Chorley Car Audio near me sells the sub and the amp package and fitting for £150, so 3 of my m8s bought them lol, but compared to my old vibe one, they rattled the boots and reg plates like mad! they were all different cars though and still very good quality for the price :)
