Is the light polished part of your 17" alloys, the most outstanding face getting corroded?

I've got the same ones;

Mine look like they've been curbed at every point, evenly all over, it couldn't be that, is this the effect they were going for? or just a steel rusting effect?

Yep, mine are corroded too. I think it's a result of using acid based wheel cleaners.
