1. What is the oil change interval for a 2.4jtd? the old 2.4 TD was 6k miles I believe, is the JTD the same? I do alot of short journeys on a day to day basis so will probably need to change sooner than later.
2. How much oil is needed for an oil change?
3. Any good recommendations for oil to use, valvoline, millers etc?

Owners handbook states 20,000 kilometres (approx 12,000miles) but like all diesels would benefit from more frequent changes,
It's the only thing I use Kwikfit for, Filter and oil change (mobil semi-synthetic) £27 to £34 depending on the offer at the time. With no dirty oil to dispose of,
At that price I do it every 3 months (6 - 8k miles)
The car still uses no oil between changes and is on 130k miles now.

I'd say 6,000 miles with semi-synthetic, or 12,000 miles with fully synthetic.

Used diesel engine oil is pretty nasty stuff, but the local tip has recycling facilities so just need an empty oil bottle (and a bit - 5.5litres) to get it there in.

Yes Hellcat, did my old TD 125 a few times it was like putting hands into dirty black bitumen! even latex gloves seemed to fall apart. Semi like the idea of Quikfit oil change for ease, but not fully convinced ? may buy a good quality oil and get my hands dirty, nothing like dirty fingernails for a month.

Thats what 'swarfgell' is for! lol

I have one of these and they are majic you need to be patient but it works a treat no mess, and no crawling under my car at least I can get the oil filter from up top,you can even suck the oil out of the camshaft well. There is a better one works with compressor but its twice the price.
