Hi people.

I bought a Marea Weekend yesterday, it has those awful black plastic handles, I am going to go to a Breakers to look for replacement ones, I don’t care what colour or style, so long as they don’t look like they have been in a fire :yuck:….like the ones on the car now.

I was wondering if any of you hardened Marea owners know if the Marea handles are generic, like they are the same handles on another model of Fiat, which would make my life easier when looking for a set.

Well. Obviously you can swap handles between the Marea, Bravo and Brava. But the Marea has the best handlesof the 3 being that they are hard plastic and painted to match.
However their is another option Alfa handles of the 147 I think.

they might have been whats the rest of the car like

it sounds as though chrome alfa 147 handles are what you need. there is a guide on fiatboo: http://www.bravo-guide.co.uk/mod-a-bravo.htm#handle

then you can sell the marea handles on ebay because they are a popular upgrade for bravo/a owners.

Tidy, no evidence of a fire, I have a feeling the last owner changed them, he had 3 Weekends LOL I bought the newest one

I have a feeling no one would buy them, I will have to take a pic and post it.

funny, the other two Weekends he had that he wasn't selling, had colour coded handles, and the other cars were different colous to the one I bought

It does look like a rubber covering that has deteriorated, my last thought about it before you replied, was that “I wonder if they tried to strip the paint off for some reason or other”

Some cheaper Mareas (SX like mine) had rubber handles with a marea stripe on them. Get yourself the better ones (there is a thread on this in Bravo-Brava forum), spray them whatever you like (black or body color) and fit.

The SX weekend that my son in law had had the same hard plastic handles sprayed in body colour that our ELX has. I looked at ours after reading this post and they are still neat looking with a glossy covering of metallic black paint, so whatever primer system Fiat use on plastic they got it right.

Which only means that specs for Europe (i'd say Central Europe) were different (cheaper) than yours.

The way the pound is crashing against the Zloty we will have the stripped out Fiats here soon and you will get all the flashy handles you ned.. My wife is working with a girl from Krakow and she has asked to go over there when she goes home next, can you provide me with some infornation to decide if I should go. How much is a beer in a bar there?
