According to one of the French car magazines, There will be an Alfa Junior in the spring of 2008. It will be built on the Grande Punto platform as a three door only. The inspiration is claimed to be the 1300 Guilia GT Junior. The size will be about the same as the current GP, so about the same as the Alfasud (about 4 meters long) from the early 1980s.

i know its early days but here's a few pics of the predicted design.
if it looks as good as any of these pics i think it'll be a winner.

The middle one is closest to what the French magazine had. The rear view was more or less identical.

got to say the older alfa's and abarth fiats are the absolute bom shizzle.

been looking for something interesting for a while now, but nothing, not nought, not even a sticker of one:(

just I'll be coming upto 21 soon as classic car insurance beckons me:D just a funking shame they don't have classic insurance available at a lower age as so many nice cars that I could have saved have been left in fields to rust, taken abroad, stolen, crushed, split for parts. Makes me sad thinking about all of them (my mates citroen cx turbo super especially, 2.2turbo 8v pushrod motor with the black leather and red buttons, with thick as you like carpets, bling citroen cx turbo wheels (wrecked mind, and apparently metric?) AND IT WAS LPG converted so I could have run it daily too, like he did, got involvoed in a minor accident and insurance co in their infinate wisdom condemed it to the crusher:mad:

Agree with jug, 2nd ones nice. If they make this car, I'm going to scrap all my plans on getting a house, take out a massive loan, and buy one of these as soon as it comes out :slayer: It's a beaut, almost sexual...

the quick grande punto's STILL haven't landed in engalanda:(

or anywhere else for that matter:rolleyes:

i guess a sporty fiat isnt as much of a priority, fiat cars are not aimed at the sportier side of the market. alfa is meant to be offering fiat's sportier versions so i would hope they release the better models earlier on.

please please please let it look like the second pic. PLEASE!!!!!

ooo baby! :D

That,s an Alfa GTAM lightweight as raced by Alfa. 2,000 engine and alloy panels. I know they are calling the new one a Junior but the plan by Alfa is that it will come in below the 147 and is the modern day Alfasud from the early 70's. From the photo's Iv'e seen it won't look anything like the ones posted above. More a cross of the GP/147. The photos were on Italiaspeed about a month ago.
Sorry

don't worry, if they build anything half as ugly as the new front end for the 147, alfa will go down the tube faster than a, well fill in the blank:D

147 = NICE
147 facelift (inc interior), = WTF were they thinking, :yuck:

I like the 166 (before facelift) with the tiny hid lights, very classy, and make the car look even bigger:devil:

well history has taught me to expect the car that gets released will be no where near as good as those pics, and there's little point getting my hopes up, but thats life.

i always get excited a year before a car is realeased because the concept is so great and it looks amazing and promises so much, then its the dissapointment with the final release model that makes me hate so many new cars.

at the end of the day its just a grande punto with alfa body panels and interior. so it'll be as crap as a GP but a bit better looking (not hard) and a lot more expensive (to buy, run and fix). not my idea of a successful car but its funny watching them try.

lets be honest, if alfa did release the car in the second pic, they would sell loads of them and it would be a hit, especially if it has the 1.4 turbo lump with at least 150bhp. i know i'd buy one. even if the engine blows up at 20k and the electrics randomly fail in traditonal alfa style i'd still buy one and love it.
