Hi all.

My bog standard Punto Mk2 radio has suddenly started making a disgusting high pitched whistling noise when the engine is running.......perfect when I switch off, so even I can work out that something on the car is interfering eh?

Thing is...yeah.....exactly WHAT is my next question Answers PLEASE.....I can't live without it, but can't live with that noise either. I don't mind paying to have it fixed but only if it isn't something simple that I can't do myself........Thanks guys....

yes buy a new head unit and throw that 1 away they are s**t.

sounds like your speakers are picking up interference from somewhere - which is odd if everything is bog standard [8)]

Sounds like it lost a ground to me

Yeah check your earth cables

Check your HT cables too - if there is a poor connection anywhere it could cause arcing between the lead and the connector ...
