going into tescos, the petrol station enters the road from the left. Im going up the road, hes pulling out of the petrol station, i blare my horn, he keeps pulling out, i slam on the brakes and try to steer right but we hit :(

looks like headlight unit, wing and bumper at the min, but it was dark so ill have to have a proper look in the morning. it was only a slowish impact so im hopeing theres nothing more serious underneath.

Anyway i had a witness (my best mate) in the car with me and the guy admitted fault immediatly, so all should go well. Also it turns out the guy who hit me was my best mates bosses son! AND i used to go to school with him! its a small world lol. First thing my mate did when he got out of the car (drivers side as pass side door was jammed by the wing) was tap on the guys window and say "twice in three months dan? atleast we wernt parked this time lol" i was like wtf? he explained it was his bosses son and that the guy had crashed into and written off a parked car 3 months ago aswell! hes been driving less than a year! it was his mums car and he was on his mums insurance too. she aint gonna be happy... not the second time round  looks like he got off lightly tho... just bumper and headlight.

Personally I'd rather go the insurance route and show his mother and their insurance company why being a named driver on your parents insurance is a dumb thing

But that's very generous of you considering the damage, make sure you get the garage/ bodyshop to check everything is as it should be underneath and that damage is purely cosmetic :) I hope it is.

Not being funny but if you saw him pulling out and had chance to beep your horn why didnt you avoid him before or stop before if i saw someone pulling out on me i wouldnt beep the horn i would stop and then beep the horn.

Unlucky XEN hope you get it sorted, damage might only look superficial but sods law dictates it will cost a fortune

some OAP crashed into my mothers KA a while back at a roundabout did just shy of £2K of damage from the outside you could only see that the bumper was scuffed and bent and the headlight was broken and the arch linging had sprung out but she had hit the crash rail and bent that, and the headlight mount on the back of teh wing that was spot welded in place had come adrift so New wing. bumper, crash rail, arch lining, Headlight and wheel trim + labor...

yeh andy, just took it out for a run and noticed another problem. it keeps feeling like the trackings out aswell. Hopefully just track rod end balljoint has been damaged by the impact, but could easily be steering rack and/or suspension arm balljoint and/or wheel bearing damage aswell :( and the lights are all to f*ck... pass side lights are doing funny things which made me assume it was a short. i tried to locate it so i atleast had all my lights working but to no avail. ive even tried disconnecting everything bar indicators headlights and sidelights but its still acting strange. Could be crushed wiring in the loom :( and the seatbelts arn't retracting. I might have just put that down to coincidence or just assumed i'd not noticed it, but its both drivers and pass side - not sure what, if anything has happened there. just seems like the more i inspect it the more damage i find, yet it looked very minor and just cosmetic

flump and fletch: maybe it could have been avoided but i assumed when i honked the horn at him he would have noticed me and stopped, but he didnt. He'd pulled out so far in that split second I was actually half way on to the wrong side of the road when he hit me from trying to avoid him.

rock: ill try get sum pics

The car could have fired the pretensioners/ grabbers.. Just a thought is the airbag light on??

well the lowest quote i got was just shy of £600 and the guy turned up and paid it so today it got fixed!

took some pix....

The 'Before' Pics.... There was a lot of broken paint originally but the day after it had happened, i gave it a quick spray with can of black spray paint so it didnt look half as bad

Headlamp, Wing and door removed... it wasn't completely necessary to take the door off but i didnt want to damage it trying to get the wing off and plus it made moving the the new wing around to line it up so much easier...
