flocking the dash...

Dunno mate... but as a cheap alternative, cover your dash in moist cotton wool and plant cress seeds...

Environmentally friendly and handy if you get a bit hungry on a long journey

:D

no, flocking involves positive charging the dash or something like that and then firing all the flock material at it. the flock is like fuzzy felt :D all small little bits, not a roll of material. its not a case of getting a roll of acustic carpet and gluing it to ur dash.

price is about £80 for a dash the size of my uno

That leopard one doesnt look like flocking...

The idea behind flocking is so the sun doesnt rebound off the dash and dazzle race car drivers.

And for modifiers it also means you can have a matt, cloth-like surface on your dash, in various colours and no joins like in fabric!

ohh....not seen it like that before, i dont like it, i was going to put cream colour suade on mine, not thought about it for the marea yet :chin:

Bulldog, you would be supprised just how easy it is to sort out on the marea. in my bravo (dash is pretty much identical, only diff would be spec) i have got black suede over the speedo housing and also on the passenger side, where the air bag or recess would be (had a recess so sorted that out) then sprayed the centre for all the aux controls body coloured... looks mint imo, well worth the time and effort (y)

www.centralblastcleaning.co.uk - based in Banbury, they do flocking. There was a feature about it in Classic Ford a bit back but I can't find it but it was a lot less than 80 quid to do a Mk2 Escort dash (y)
Less than £80, thats got me thinking :chin: as flocked dashes look reallly good.
