Hey. Did anyone watch that derren brown program on C4 Wednesday?
If you didn't, he guessed the lottery numbers on the BBC draw live.

Anyway, if you did, how do you think he did it?
My friend just gave me the best theory yet that have heard..
Bare in mind Derren Brown kept saying that it took him a year to do this Lottery guessing
He thinks that Derren has kept organising the number in each possible combination, 6 numbers, a stupid amount of combinations but over a year it is feasable...
Then he filmed the part where he spins the stand round to reveal the numbers

How do you think he did it?
It shows how he did it tonight, see who is closest to the answer!

Ok my mates theory is actually impossible...

works out at recording 40,000 combinations everyday!

It is camera trickery surely. Plus plenty of videos on youtube showing certain discrepancies.

I like the block he has such an understanding of the brain that a Psychonaut like my former self cannot help but admire.

I do have to agree that all of this stuff that is so obviously just repetition as Karbine has suggested is a bit pants.

Split screen. You can see the line if you look hard enough, also the ball at the end jumps up on him reading out twenty three (more noticable in slow mo).

i almost fell asleep watchin the lottery part and it wer only 10mins long!!!
lets see him do some think a little more interesting like saw him self in half! id pay to watch that

Have you seen the one where he gets someone to break up some glass, then he lays down on it, and gets someone to stand on his head?

Got to take everything with a pinch of salt that he does, but hes great live.

No no, it revealed it last night.
He fixed the machine with his balls (giggity) by getting someone on the inside to put them in with the other balls.. so he knew they would come out due to the weight of them.
If it's that easy to do that, thats well bad and the insider guy should be arrested/sacked

You really believe he would do that? Cant work out if you are joking or not...if you aren't...then LOL

I've often felt there is an element of rigging in the national robbery.
When it started, rollovers were as rare as rocking horse s**t - but the lottery was popular so plenty of profit.
They knew the tease of a rollover would draw additional punters from the chrimbo rollies.
Then, profits started to fall off so they introduce a midweek draw - now we have a rollover almost weekly!

Thing is, by close of play, they know every combo of numbers in play - so they also know every combo NOT in play.
If it is rigged, they could so easily draw combos not in play to give the rollover.

Also, the balls are 'bubbling' away in the drum then a tube comes up to lift a ball.
Anyone play tha kid's game where you catch the ball in the cup? bounces out a fair bit doesn't it?
Always amazes me how the ball stays on the rising tube.

A lot of people forget he classes himself as a specialist in 'mind tricks.'

He just knows how to manipulate the minds of gullible people :lol: there is no way he could have predicted it. Agree with the theory half the screen was frozen, it'd have been more believeable if he stood behind the balls through the whole thing (*snigger*) but the fact he didn't ruined it for me!

Still can't fault the guy, I bet there weren't many households not tuned into it! One way to make money

Yeah, I've seen him live and he was really good. He did loads of sick stuff, like hammering a nail up his nose and stop his heart beating.
