Guys, if anyone can help professionally?

My daughter was insured on her 1.4 Saxo Furio with Tesco, before that policy expired she bought a Suzuki Swift and due to a ludicrous quote from her current insurer she shopped around, found a better deal by far and took it, but didnt cancel her Saxo policy with the previous insurer as they wanted £200 to do so. Now the new insurer for the Swift wants NCD evidence which the previous insurer will not give, as they say you cannot have NCD on 2 cars... This puzzles me and it smacks of sharp practice as
a) there has been no risk to the first insurer as the car was sold on.
b) she has earned her NCD by being accident free since she started driving at 17 (3 yrs NCD)

What do I do, do I have grounds for complaint, do I get the Citizens Advice involved or the Insurance Ombudsman, or is there a better way?

Sorry for the long query, just hoping someone in the industry can help :(

Unfortunately, they are right.

You can't use the same NCB on 2 cars, which seems ridiculous to me also! However, this is it works in the UK.

The only thing you can do is pay the premium on a gross basis and wait for the other policy to expire, then use the NCB from that on the new car and apply for a pro-rata refund.

Just check with your new company that they can allow this.

Next time, please give us a ring on the official Fiat Forum scheme - 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961!

Depending on the insurer some companies will give you the same NCB discount as you have on your main car

:yeahthat: Adrian Flux did this for me despite the car the NCB was earned on being insured with someone else.

As to the other point, at the end of the previous year, did your daughter not get anything with her renewal showing proof of NCB?

My final point is my dad would die for interfering with my finances, you are one brave man
