Do the smaller amps, namely the 2 x 75w ones have a HPF option? and what frequency is it from and to?

Wanted: Cinq dash speaker grills, cash waiting, PM me

SPL is namely a cheap brand i have to say, so i'm guessing here that a HPF is doubtful. Maybe on the bigger SPL amps. Take it these are for your new components. Where you placing the tweeters?

Yeah for the comps....saw this and it got me thinking. I dunno if Im getting a decent amp for them until my birthday in March so it might just do until then, £35 for a few of months isnt too bad. Might run them from the HU until then though but I'm getting all the cable and dissy box's etc... for an extra amp so it would be a waste if I couldnt use it all until March. I just need a cheap amp until then with a HPF.

Tweeter placement..dont get me started! I've literally had bad dreams about the tweeters! I want to put them flushed into the door card, in line with the centre of the mids but the door card isnt that big. I then thought about taking the dash out and having them mounted flush at the top of the dash reflecting off the windscreen. I also thought about flushing them into the bit of dash infront of the mids and having them angled to me but Im unsure about carving holes into the dash somewhere too obvious. If I mess that up then it means buying a new dash!

Well i'd rather a cheap amp then running off the HU. Seen too many speakers get blown from a HU! (myself included, d'oh!)

As for tweeters, good luck on this one! The A-pillar would mean mounting too far from the mids, so the dash is defo the way to go. Run your tweeters on long speaker wire, add a blob of blutak, and move them around the dash until it sounds the best. Then you can ponder on how to properly install them.

You could go all out mad and make some kickpanels, or a lower-door build. Would sound good, but p**sing about with fibreglass is rather annoying. Good luck mate :)

Blu-Tak is definitly getting some usage when it comes to placing them! I had a look at where I think will be best and it looks as though on the top of the dash reflecting from the windscreen may be best. We'll soon see!

Bought that amp (from motorworld [}:)]) and got all the kit etc.. going to hook everything up and re-trim the boot this weekend. Cant wait to see what the amp can do! Had to get a couple of bass blocker's though, amp didnt have hpf in the end!
