Im still thinking about a remap for my Stilo JTD115, I believe if around 10 people want to get together then there could be big discount to be had. I dont want to pay more than £200, which I think is achieveable for a group re-map. Anyone else interested in West Mids or North Worcestershire area ?

Chipped UK was one idea, as they say they offer up to 33% off for 11 cars +, why would few be interested if it was Chipped UK ? The other was Angel who I think would also offer a group discount.

have a forum search or even google, most here wont that have been on here long enough wont use any of them.

try http://www.westonperformance.com/

I spoke to Western Performance and it seems they only do custom re maps, which I am sure are very good, but their price is going to be too much for me. I think what I and most people may want, correct me if I am wrong, is a generic re-map flashed onto my ECU, but I would like a before and after print out to prove there has been a good increase in BHP & torque.

I have also been in touch with "More BHP" Middlewich who according to other web sites do low priced re-maps, but now they say they want £399 for a 1.9JTD115, so that's them crossed off the list. TBH the more time I spend on this the more likely it seems I will just go to Red Dot and drive down to London.

Any news on the re-map scheme? I have my engine now and want it mapped.

What do we consider a good, thorough deal?

Car taken in, rolling road test done to determine a standard/starting performance and then the car is remapped for maximum performance with your mods e.g exhaust, filter etc.

If anybody fancies a trek over to Blackpool, I've just found a place very local to me that does re-mapping with a 14 day 'no likey, money back' gaurentee.

This Place

Prices start at £250, but I will enquire today and see what the cost to remap my Punto engine is.

Also, what is the best way to go about asking for a group buy?

Could do with some numbers asap.

If this turns out to be a decent place, and I'll find out today when I go down, who would seriously be able to come to Blackpool for a remap?

Ok well - that remapping centre is absolutely AWFUL! lol

They are pretty much the most arrogant bunch of people you could ever meet. Aside from trying to subtly take the **** out of my car, they we're on their mobile phones and not really interested in what I had to say.

After questioning what my actually car was, I explained it had a punto sporting engine and I would like to get it re-mapped as it has a cold induction kit, de-cat exhaust and I wanted to get maximum performance.

One of the 'mechanics' told me I would get a 3bhp improvement at best and that I should fit a Punto turbo engine and come back.

I did say that I was aware of that fact it wasn't a Zonda or a Ferrari and that the performance gains would be small, but I wanted the re-mapping to suit the de-cat and filter.

At this point I realised they were no-brainers and then proceeded to ask them how they can 'tune performance cars' without a rolling road and why their website says they can provide 'at least a 30% improvement in power for any vehicle'.......but not for me.

I then left a large line of rubber in the carpark and went home.
