Just in the process of fitting some fog lamps to my 1.2 Active Fiat haven't made a kit / don’t list replacement fog lamps in their dealers part list yet :bang:

Anyhow as i nearly had a head on yesterday morning by some dozy b@$t@rd on my side of the road in the thick fog i decidet to fit some as temporary stop gap till i can get my hands on some genuine fiat lamps. I bought a set of cheap Projector fog lamps and set about butchering my GP's blanking plates, So far so good only took a "few" hours to make a bracket and to mount them. I decided to drill the blank plate at least if i had made a balls of it a replacement shouldn’t cost too much.. When i get my hands on some proper fiat lamps the wiring will be in..

Just need to Wire them in now via a relay, they look ok and managed to align them in the dark tonight via connecting directly to the battery (via a fuse)

Does any one know the sidelight wire colour??

Otherwise I’m half tempted to take the switching feed off the tow bar electrics to avoid hacking into the sidelights in the engine compartment

Any how here a couple of photos…..

All done. :D

I used a Ring Remote control Relay kit to save having to go fishing through the bulk head and having to mount a switch (yes im lazy) but it was a piece of p155 to wire the only thing is the Relay kit is "E" marked but there is no Internal warning light to let you know the front fogs are on (however it does turn off when the sidelights are turned off) doubt it will be an issue untill MOT time...

didnt realise they where Yellow Tinted but they stand out

all that i need now is a few cable ties to tidy the wiring up

whats the easyest point to get through the bulkhead??

i originally picked up a Ring relay with a square rocker switch but i didnt fancy butchering the dash board plus i'd have needed to find an earth for the light in the switch and the relay wasnt sealed

I had a kit that i wired some fogs in my KA to which was a slefcontained self adhesive swith which had a red and green led inside but aparently they have stopped making them.

any one know the part numbers for the replacement left and right front foglamps?

Andy, easiest way I have found is through the large grommet under scuttle panel on the near side. This comes out nicely behind the glovebox (best to remove) make sure you use some sealent on the grommet afterwards just incase of water penetration.I normally mount a 'dinky' round black switch (with internal red LED) in the centre consul...looks good;)
Dont forget to fuse live to the fog lights(y)

They look good mate, have thought about getting some front fogs for my car after the trouble I've had round here recently.

Being stuck out in the middle of nowhere means that it is often foggy down the country roads!

Fog lights -dealer fit

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for dealer to fit genuine fog lights in an Eleganza or is some of the circuitry missing? I apologise if this has come up elsewhere but I am unable to find it if it has.:worship:

Re: Fog lights -dealer fit

Thanks for that T14086, I had read this helpful post but I thought just maybe Fiat may have included circuitry in higher spec cars for fog lights including switches and it was a case of buying lights and fitting. If this is not the case I won't bother. Even thinking of just putting lights in without power as it just finishes front off perfect. Never use them much myself.

Can you say what you mean by body computer can't check anything as I don't pick up car till next Sat. It is a 1.4 16v Eleganza registered at end of Sept '06. I had to take it regardless as there don't seem to be too many new 16v 'Ganzas left.

Cheers T14086, I'll phone dealer in the morning and ask them to check it out as they are meant to be taking car in to workshop this week to check everything over i.e. software updates, recalls, steering rack etc. All things I have been made aware of through the forum and for which I am grateful. Fingers crossed they can be fitted.
