Hi All,

It's been a while since I last came here asking questions. Long story short, car had an accident and took just over a year get things fixed due to parts shortage. The car was sitting idly on the sun and rain for good 8 months at the workshop before we were able to get the required parts.

Alternator and the AC Compressor was seized up when the repairs started. New recon Alternator in, AC Compressor disconnected until I get a time to get it fixed.

At the moment following DTC codes are being shown.

U1733 - convergence telematic node L1 and L2
B1034 - Inside lighting (button panel)

Can anyone let me know what these mean and what needs to be fixed?

Thanks :)

Did you tried simply delete those codes? I mean if they appear again...Im just asung because for example when technician dusconnected one plug from main ECU (gearbox must go away), he dudn't disconnected battery as first and I had then appr 10 error codes almost about everything :) I deleted them and all ok...

Shortly after buying Becky - our 2010 Panda Dynamic Eco I bought Multiecuscan (from Gendan - who I would unreservedly recommend. Grant has been especially helpful). Not having any experience with MES, the first time I scanned the car a number of codes were listed. A couple really scared me as I'd no idea what they were about : U1703 - instrument cluster control unit. and U1700 Body Control Unit. There were a few others but I knew what they were about (clutch switch etc). In the end, because I'd no idea about these two "U" codes, I took a note of them and, with fingers crossed, erased them! So far, a year later, they've never come back - Hurrah!

Anyone like to enlighten me as to what they might refer?
Regards, as always
Jock

Thanks Jock.
I've reset these codes via MES several times now. And each time after reset, these two keeps popping up.

Just thinking should i perform a proxy alignment as my instrument cluster is also flashing.

Many codes are only info related - for example when you disconnect one of maim plugs from ECU. Codes like Body Cotrol Unit looks useless and they are telling that they lost connection with main ECU. But if you plugged connector back, ECUs are happy again, but error codes remain in main ECU. Many of them are temporary and delete itself after 3 successful starts and little rides.
Example - when I unpluggend injector on idle, I received err codes about ABS and EBD + engine MIL and yellow triangle... :) They disapear after 3 successful rides (or by deleting through MES). But as you mentioned gunemalli, both codes are there again and again. So there is real issue. Regarding B1034 - is there something which should shine and it isnt? It can be panel which covers interior fuse box...or LED backlight of door handles + stripe below passengers airbag (if you have this model...)

Thanks Rado77.
Will look into those next week. Going to get the AC Compressor repaired tomorrow.Lets see how it goes.

Thanks Jock.

Because I don't properly understand it proxy alignment worries me. I've read that it can reset things you don't want reset and then you need this special code number before you can access them to get back to where you started with them. I'll be leaving alone until I understand better.

Hi Jock,

for what I understand about Proxy Alignment, it is needed after the CAN bus has suffered loss of communication between (parts of) the system.

As the name says, it is a Controllers Area Network, which means there is no "central" brain but each member of the network acts individually, i.e sending a request on the network (CAN bus) to know what's the outside temperature (could be the Engine Controller Unit asking) and this request being replied by the Body Computer Module or the Climate Controller which is physically wired to the temp sensor in the passenger mirror.

Depending on each version, some "nodes" might not be present so one need to "tell" the entire system who's there and who's not, or tell it one has been added. This is when the Proxy Alignment is required, kind of synchronization or update (alignment indeed ;-) initiated by an external temporary member (MES thru OBD), update whose informations will be stored in the network (I guess in the BCM).

Hopefully I'm not too far from the truth, apologies if this contains mistakes but I believe You get the idea of how it works ...

BRs, Bernie

I think the same. Even if you are doing some changes in ECUs through MES and for example you change some value in Body Computer like "TPMS system = Not present" to "= Present", MES will tell you about doing Proxi Aligment procedure (if needed). And as Bernie said - if someone unplugged some socket when battery was still plugged in, you must do Proxi Alignment procedure after that
