Sorry for the late response, I managed to pick up a used bosch map sensor from the breakers yard and ive just finished fitting that one. Taken the gp out for a 20 minute spin, shes only just got up to temperature (is that normal? Temp guage reading 9 degree outside, was doing town driving). Immediatly after my drive my obd sensor is reading 74 deg c engine coolant temperature and 18 deg c intake air temperature. Havent had any engine lights which seems to be a good sign.
Just as a follow up for anyone who's come across this thread, whos having the P0115 issue, changing the map sensor did solve my problem. Definitely worth a try.
Hi I got similar problems with my 2006 1.4 Doblo same engine I believe error Po115 it's been happening for a few years though I only cover 3000 miles a year ,in warmer months warning light may not come on,it's in colder months it comes on,do about 35 miles on comes the light, temperature goes to zero engine fan comes on few more miles everything back to normal .I wonder if Thermostat working as it should. The sensor you bought was it easy to fit. Thanks in advance

I had an identical problem, car was unable to maintain the ideal temperature, special on long trips and sometimes suddenly dropped to 0º C, light popped up and fan kicked in.
I changed the thermostat (it was stuck openned, coolant was always circulating on the system), and for safe changed temperature sensor too.

The sensor is like a resistor, you can remove the electric connector and measure with a multimeter.
Thermostat
Measure hoose temperature by hand.
Put you car working. The thermostat should only open when coolant gets 90ºC.
Feel the hoose from thermostat to radiator, if it is getting hot very fast then there's your problem.
Notes
I wont advise removing thermostat to check or diagnose, unless you already have a spare one. Mine still was original and was a small plastic tube. With time and water/coolant it was already rotten and ended up breaking.
