Hi guys, had my 1.2 grande serviced today. Now when i first switch the engine on it revs around 1500rpm whereas before it usually was aroung 1000rpm, is the ordinary?

Also the gas pedal seems very over sensative compared to this morning, the slightest touch and and it reaches around 2500 to 3000rpm. May just be me and heavy feet but as i said, wasnt like that this morning.

Wondering if the mechanic has messed about with something he shouldnt have.

Would appreciate any help

Not really sure on the service side but I find that my 1.4 16v is sensitive after starting it up from cold. The accelerator is really touchy until it warms up and It does idle at around 1500 for a minute or so then drops to 1000 so i'd say it's probably normal.

How about the sensativity part, only happens in 1st gear but when pulling away for example, slightly touching the pedal without really applying any pressure and im getting lots of noise and high revs

Yeah it's most noticable in first and it seems like theres either no power or a lot of power, also feels like the car is pulling itself along quicker if that doesn't sound weird..

Sounds about right yeah lol

I'm not 100% sure if GP has a throttle cable or if it's potentiometer (fly by wire).
If it has a cable, then maybe the service department adjusted it, hence the reason it feels more responsive.

The other alternative could be a sticking idle control valve, or a slightly leaking vacuum pipe.

Either way, if it's not right, i'd suggest a quick call to the people who serviced it.
