hi guys, over the past few weeks there has been a very loud blowing noise very similar to an induction kit sound, it kicks in around 1500 revs as a very deep blowing sound located as if it is just infront of the driver within the engine.

any ideas lol
 
What engine you running? my dads alfa jtd made a similar noise at around the same sort of revs. It turned out to be a split intercooler pipe from the turbo.
 
Think it was around £35 from memory but don't quote me on that. Have you noticed any loss of power at all? Only reason I ask is thst dads did where pressure was dropping as a result of the split. Obviously yours might be a different pipe. You will need to check all pipes/hoses to see if any or which hoses are split.(y)
 
Sounding more and more like a split hose which could be turbo related. Is it smoking excessively? My dads smoked like a train when his split, was like a James Bond movie set behind him whenever he even touched the accelerator :eek:.
 
car going in garage tomorrow! fingers crossed

car is going into a local garage tomorrow for an EGR clean and a check on the intercooler pipe from the turbo.

Kinda wish i had just bought a new egr


i know for a fact the egr valve is running dodgy as all the factors of EML on along with rough running and low mpg and had it diagnosed a few weeks back.

the hose i am not sure about but something is blowing infront of the drivers side when around 1500 revs.


so lets hope for the best!
 
ok guys, so the verdict.

recieved the car back yesterday egr all cleaned out etc.

seems to be running better but the light came back on.... does this mean new erg?
