Help!
We've just bought a 2006 1.3 punto. Got the car, battery was dead had to jump start. driving home the engine light came on and lost power at 3000rpm so we took it in to the workshop, they replaced the map sensor/boost sensor but then driving home it did the same thing (goes into limp home mode). Got some cables for myself and have run tests, getting error b0110 (the intermittent error) and there is an electronic ticking noise under the bonnet when the key is turned but motor not running (by the injectors) that I dont know how to locate for certain. Cant go back to the workshop (went into receivership) and cant return vehicle (as we began the repairs process:cry:). Can anyone share their expertise please?

I had some of those problems when my battery died.
I could start the car and drive for at last 800m.
After that the dash became a christmas tree wich systems failing one after another.
Finanly completly dead, and the dyno is ok.
Replaced he battery and no troubles since.

As you battery was flat, do you know tye cause?, maybe test or replace it first.

just DO NOT CONNECT TO LIVE BY MISTAKE AS IT WILL EITHER MELT THE JUMP LEAD OR KILL / EXPLODE YOUR BATTERY

A bad earth cable will prevent the battery charging properly along with giving a low voltage back into the cars computer systems seen as most systems work on voltage signals.... the car throws a hissy fit..

for example

the engine temperature circuit runs on a resistance value think a temperature affected dimmer light switch.......

the car sends a signal of lets just say 12v.......

it expects a cold car to return a 2v signal....... as with a light bulb it will hardly light up / move the needle

a warm car to return 6v it returns a half bright bulb / half way up the gauge

at 12v the light bulb will be fully lit / the needle will be up at the top in red

hope that helps to explain what could be going on...

i tried the jumper lead test and had no luck :( but i can see what you say it makes sense.....would an auto electrician be able to help me out? why does the scan say that the fault is not triggering the engine light but it is? and going into limp home mode? would a voltage issue cause this to?

the airbag light is not on

thanks for the help :)
