Hi,
I have problem with my fiat grande punto 1.3mtj , 75hp , year 2007 , milage 107.000km ,
the main problem is when i start the car in the morning or after drivning(when it cooles down) , i see blue-white smoke(not steam) and it smells on diesel(it not smeels on oil),and its gone in 5 seconds,
In driving there is no smoke.

I inspected injectors(in fiat service) , OK
The oil consuption is 0 (7.000km from last change and oil is on the maximum) , OK
I inspected the compresion for all 4 cyilinders(cold and hot),all 4 cylindars have compresion rate of 26 bar , OK
I check the turbo in service,OK.
Car is working normaly,speeds up
Can MAF cause this problem?
What can cause this smoke and what should i inspect next?

Thanks in advance Shomikus

Yes i also tought that the turbo is not ok so i was fool and i bought brand new garret with complete housing, wastegate valve in official garret service,so now i have new turbo and same problem....and the blue smoke smels on diesel, not oil

Ah right, could be the fuel not combusting fully (glow plugs). The fact you mention it only does it on start up from cold would indicate this is the problem. Start there, as they're cheap, if it is that, great, if not, start worrying lol.

Thanks,i will try to change glow plugs and see if there is any diference
Can MAF be the reason of this problem?

I had the same problem on my 1.9 mjet. In the mornings when i started it there would be a load of white ish smoke comeing out the exhaust on start up. Turns out i just needed to give the glow plugs a bit longer to warm the block up. The smoke is un burnt diesal, i bet once the engine is running the smoke instantly goes and you don't see it again even when thrashing it ? Give you plugs 15 seconds to warm up before cranking the engine, i don't look at the glow plug light any more it goes out to early.

Car is accelerating ok,consuption in town is about 6.5 l/100km, on road 6l/100km , only problem that consuption rises up when the car is working in place, also they saw on car diagnostics in service that computer reads too much intake air when car is working in place(because of that i asked if MAF can cause this problem)

The smoke is only on starting the engine, cold or warm,3 seconds and smoke is gone,it smels on diesel,in driving nothing,no oil consumption(service to service the oil stick reads MAX),also i put new garett turbo in official service.

i didnt check the glow plugs because my mechanic told me there is no need to check because glowplug light is not blinking,if something is wrong the glow plug will blink(i dont know is this true or not)

When is cold the car is starting on half of the key,i measured the compresion rate in service(26 bar all 4 cyliders)

Can fuel filter can cause this problem, because when i changed fuel filter this problem came out,can be the problem false air in filter or pump in the fuel tank??

Thank you guys for help
