Okay, this will most likely be a "point and laugh at me" question... but I was just wondering if someone could tell me where I can find the air intake pipe in the 1.9 JTD engine bay. I have a slight vibration noise and was going to check to make sure the "lug" has not worn away - after searching on the forum I found that to be a potential cause.

As I am not currently at my car I can't pop out and take a look, but hoped someone could give me a pointer as to where I should be looking once I have the chance.

Thanks!

Usually the 1.2 not the 1.9's affected by this one :)

Thanks for the info! I'm not convinced it is the air intake lug anyhow - the noise I have seems to sound more like an increase in the amount of diesel chatter... but I'm not sure how to pinpoint it and I thought it may be worth a look at. I check the levels regularly (oil etc.) and all of these are fine but it just seemed to start a few weeks ago after I had done some long distance driving (a few 250 mile round trips and a 450).

Hello, Id be interested in knowing where it is on the 1.9 Mjet too, as i have a similar thing ... dealer i took it to had a look, tightened something under the wheel arch, but it wasnt that. doesnt happen all the time, or at least you cant hear it while accelerating with the Diesel Engine, but just coasting , low revs its there faintly, with the music/fan/wipers all off ... its there ...
But if someone could post a pic of location of the "Usual Suspects" of these noises, it would be a great help. :)
