I recently just bought an HID xenon conversion kit (h4 6000k) i installed it straight away but as always nothing is as easy as 'plug and play'

So my problem is the only time the xenons come on is when i put my high beams on! I have made sure i got the correct kit.

When i have my normal beams or sidelights on its still normal yellow light that comes from the bulbs.

Anyone know what im doing wrong? the cables all seem to be plugged in correctly and obviously they are working because the high beams are xenon. Someone help!!

what kit did you buy? For both low and high beams to work you need an H4-3 Kit. My kit came with all connectors and worked straight away.

Sounds like you may just have an H4 single kit, and its plugged into the high beam connector on the wiring plug.

I bought an "xenon HID conversion kit- h4 6000k white" thats exactly what was described on the ebay page.

He states at the bottom that if i want the high beam bulbs included its an extra £8.50 but he seems sure that its impossible to have a high beam only kit, and that ive wired it wrong or its the settings to my car.

The seller if definatley legit as he has sold many. My kit came with all the connectors, and all the plugs i have connected them to fitted perfectly. I have pictures of the kit if you would like to see them? thankyou for your reply btw (y)

pics would be helpfull. this is the kit i got http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/ultra-h43-hilo-beam-35w-hid-kits-p-260.html

by the sounds of things you may have just got a normal H4 kit, my kit which ive put the link onto has a sererate wire which operates a magnet to raise the bulb and give the impression of a high beam.

Try putting the connectors in the other slot on the bulb connector and see if that works, that way you will get it to work on dipped beam only. you dont really need a high beam with HID as they are bright enough, but i wanted to have it anyway incase i had to flash somebody or anything.

Try this link it wont let me upload the pictures because they save into paint (because the auction is closed) hopefully the link will allow you to look at the pics. When you say try putting the connectors into the other slot what other slot do you mean?

link dosent work, just says auction has ended.

The H4 connector has 3 slots in it, one is the earth, and the other 2 are for the high beam and low beam, i cant remember what one is what just now, but my guess is that you have it in the high beam connector.

il have a look at my connectors tomorrow and see if i can get a pic up.

the only weird thing is my bulbs dont look like the ones on the picture as they dont have the silver cover on the top of it. Anyway mate heres the pics (y)

hmmm, ive forgotten how i installed mine. Without looking at mine, the only thin may be the thin wire (picture 1 coming out the bulb). Have you connected that?

There is no thin wire in the package the guy gave me!! Should I send it back then? Or do you think it's still possible to get the bloody thing working lol

To be honest, i think its just a wiring fault in the kit? You cant plug them in wrong, you cant get the plug upside down, and it'd be better if you sent it back rather than fiddling and swapping the wires over yourself.
