Hey, Can anyone work out what size intercooler upgrade i would need for a remap? Im looking into a universal one as no-one seems to make one for the 1.3.

Just thinking out loud here my friend but, i am not sure you would need a intercooler if you had a remap but it does help on the turbo. Does forge make a universal intercooler to fit all style GP's? Sorry if this doesn't help

it fits the 1.9 diesel, and 1.4 petrol turbo, and it might fit the 1.3, but im pretty sure that its to big, and will just cause turbo lag more than performance gains.

Lol i know that. I just want it to save the turbo and maybe a more agressive remap.

Yhh lol, just out of interest have you sourced any figures on what the 1.3 Multijet can be re-mapped to?

gsr remap says it will give 25 more bhp on my 75 hp 1.3, and 45+ nm of torque. tahts pretty good, and with a good induction kit and bigger intercooler, its starting to become a pretty powerful car

Standard engine im looking at 115 - 120bhp but with gsr induction kit (if i can get one) and a suitable intercooler hopefully 120 - 130bhp+

when we both get our cars done up, wel have to see if your 90 is still quicker than my 75 lol

it could be worth asking gsr if theyd consider making a custom one for the 1.3, and like the intercooler, if we both interested then they might do it

Wont the gear ratios be different? i have 6 speed you only have 5 dont you?

yeah, but that doesn't affect intercooler, or gsr installation, just th remap will probably have a bit of a different result. wont it? my car sometimes feels like it could do with another gear tbh like when cruising down a motorway or something lol.

You said to see which is quicker but my gear ratios will be closer together so will accelerate quicker. my 5th tops out at 100mph i found this out when i forgot i had 6th lol

that is true actually lol. what have you had out of yours? iv had a hundred racing a foucs, on a private road , but didn't want to go much faster in case of shanking the engine lol. it was about 3500 revs at 100, so i reckon i could maybe get 105 out of it.
do you have much pull in 6th gear? or is it more of just a cruising gear?

Cruising gear lol but its in a flat spot of the rev range that's why i want a remap lol Tried to find out about top speed but it was taking agess, then I started worrying about my turbo so backed off. We've gone off topic here :s

Yea unfortunately mine doesn't get going till about 1800rpm apparently this is the problem why the 90Bhp versions also why i want a remap. Ive emailed Gsr/Forge and will probably go down to forge later to see what they can do.

Just been reading, and guys the 1.3 doesnt sound bad atall those figures are great for a 1.3. I,d prefer the 90bhp if im honest

Id like to see what happens f you go ahead with these modifications, might trade in the 1.4 8v for a 1.3 multijet ha

Are they quicker than the 1.4 8v sport? I should say so wudnt you?

Yea they are because they've got a lot more torque to pull the weight that's why I went for one and because of the economy. Also remapping, you get more out of it compared to petrol.

the 1.3 is a great little car and while i cant fault mine, the 90bhp would probably be a bit better as your getting same economy, but a bit more pull .
i think we are doing the same modifiaction roughly on engine, so people can then compare the 1.3 75 and 90 after modifying engine, and hopefully open up a door for other 1.3s in terms of intercoolers and induction kits

Nice 1, they are a decent price aswell, just don't have the sporty look but that can be changed lol
