Technical Recall Notice

Seeing as FIAT are already selling the cars less than the average price, it's amazing they make a profit with all the recall notices. Replacing steering shafts on all these cars really can't be cheap!

I dont think Fiat depend too much on cars, commercial and agricultural divisions are good earners for the company.....however yes recalls are expensive but if they are needed then they need done.

Mine falls into the vehicle ID range listed so guess i've got to wait as I drove past my local dealer earlier and its gone.

I have done probably 100 grande punto recalls so far and %10 have had new shafts...normally the 08 or 58 plates require new shaft...
The torque of top bolt should be 30nm and lower bolt 55nm after shaft replacement

I have seen some top bolts at 8nm which then requires new shaft...

Its all good fun;)

Where do you work

Mines in 13th Feb... No recall letter officially,

i went down to book my second service and got that "why have you not rung us about your car been recalled" turns out i was already aware that it was due a recall.

Had my car 6 months recall letter today ! But going to P.X car at week end at fiat dealer so they can do it :p
