After wearing out another set of Potenza's and somehow managing to make it so that all 4 tyres were equally worn I've gone and swapped all 4 shoes to some PZeros. And all I can say is what a massive difference!!!!

Always thought the Potenzas were great tyres but tbh they're nothing in comparison with the PZeros. They have fantastic grip and are so much better in the wet weather it's unbelieable. Also, It appears that some (or actually most of) the previous understeer that I was experiencing has now vanished! :slayer:

So yeah, just thought i'd put my recommendation in :) Also, if anyones interested ATS have a deal on atm where it's 20%/30% off Pirelli tyres atm and you can obviously get discount on top which was useful (y)

lmao they were cheaper than a set of Bridgestones though Matt! :p

lol yeah that's true - I guess what people want and what they are prepared to spend are two seperate things! I had the RE050A's on before I changed to the Neros. They were awesome...until I got the Neros! I think Pirelli did a better job than Bridgestone at migrating the tyre down from the 245's to 205's personally!

I can't comment on the pzeros as the only pirellis i have ever had were p6000's and they were w*nk!

T1r's will do for me though (y)

i have pzero nero and agree with every word you say from the standard bridgestones potenza's.. they changed the ride comfort dramatically. If my car was lowered on the potenza's the ride would have been jaw breaking.

There have been a few threads about them... there not as expensive (£420) a trader on here is selling x2 for around £120/130 if i recall right - traders section. So thats only about £250 for x4, plus fitting and balancing which aint gona be more than £50 at the most!

I have done 5k on the fronts and just rotated them and they still had nobble bits on them :) should see more than 20k i got out of the bridgestone potenza's

Lol im the biggest tyre whore :p Just about to see the last few miles from my Yoko Parada Spec 2's (summer tyres) after getting 5,000 miles from them - £170 for both..ouch.

Cant decide what to put on next, got some Uniroyal Rainsport 2's in the garage which people have been raving about, Toyo T1R's or Dunlop 9000's or Nankang NS2 :/ anyone used any of the above on the GP?

Just realised that was the biggest thread hijack - sorry <3

They're super soft semi-slick style.. you can pretty much pick bits off lol. Real grippy in the dry, very twitchy in the wet tho.. I never wheel spin or anything like that - just enthusiastic driving has worn them, dread to think what a few track day/s would do to them!!!

The T1R is no where near as good as the Pzero Nero IMO, can deff tell the difference now im on the Toyos

good to hear a direct comparison between the two but i just cant agree.

i've ran both on my Marea, the problem i had with the P-zero Nero's was the lifespan Vs Cost.

while they grip like crap to a blanket in the dry they are such a soft compound that i was lucky to see 4000 miles with road driving. in the wet i found them like skating on ice.

I swapped over to the T1-R and have found their wet grip massively better, dry grip is also very comparable, i'll admit its slightly less but it makes the car feel more poised and planted.

as for tyre live, i'm seeing varied depending on what i do month to month, the current fronts have been on a track day and a day at the drag stip and now the front left is below the limit, these were fitted at the start of september and have covered about 2000 miles, normal road usage i would expect to see more like 4000miles, but they are (or atleast were) a fair bit cheaper than the Pirelli.

I agree on the wear issue, mine only lasted 16,000 miles of mostly motorway driving. The jury is still out on the Toyo's, and I agree for the price they are excellent :D
