Technical Uprated clutch for Mjet

Ok so contacted clutch specialists.co.uk and they said for a GP from 140bhp - 170 bhp, they have a "fast road" clutch, and above 170bhp they reccomend going to a full paddle clutch.

Was wondering, Is a paddle clutch not quite hard to drive in town. is it not on or off and a bit brutal?

 They havin a laugh! Go for the 140 - 170 Bhp clutch mate and be gentle with it! (y)

you sure? paddle would never ever wear out, could be nice to have that for peace of mind if nothing else.

At what price mate? How would a potential buyer receive it in such a non-standard state when you wanna move on?

hmm good point, havent though of that, i guess they wouldnt appriciate a paddle clutch thats for sure!! ill just get the "fast road" clutch then. Its aparently a 25% increase on the standard clutch. they are getting back to me on a price but its likely about the £150 mark.(y)

Is it just your clutch that has gone or has it taken the Dual Mass Flywheel with it as well?! (like mine did :()
If so, it'll be a LOT more than £150!...

We alluded to that in Posts 2 & 10 Punto Po, it might be something Beany doesnt find out until its stripped down but fingers X'd for him!

Id be wary of anyone who is selling you a clutch and gave you a BHP rating.
Should be rated to torque.
a 170bhp petrol engine could have half the amount of torque a remapped diesel GP has.
May not last much longer than the clutchj you hav.

i guess, very big clutch dealer so i think i dont have to be too wary. Also regardless of bhp, its an upgraded clutch from the one i have so bound to be better.

Quite good that you can actually get one. Is there no kit that converts it to a solid flywheel and does away with the DMF? ive heard you can get these for the vectras etc?

Wouldnt that be cool... DMF is a vibration damping tool for the transmission so I guess without it the ride might be less refined.

ive order a "Fast Road" clutch from clutch specialists.co.uk £145 inc vat. It is good for a 25% increase in power. so should be fine for me tbh. Look forward to fitting it. not.:p
