For a number of odd reasons at Fiat i couldn't get the exact model that i wanted...well without paying retail and waiting 12 weeks, when i purchased my car in september. As i mentioned in another post i ended up buying a dynamic model with extra nice rims as extras thrown in. I was never too fussed about the tiny spoiler and tinted lights, which do err...nothing. However the tiny dull exhaust isn't very appealing so i was wondering if its possible to get a genuine fiat tip on the net? And if so does anywhere know where? Or what aftermarket ones look best. I want it classy, not chavy. Thanks!

Yes, Fiat do them, i got one just before new year, see my thread:

It was about £70ish iirc, but if you haggle abit, you will get it cheaper.

That's a good point, if they want to charge a massive amount for fitment how do they work? Isit like the crappy halfords bolt on jobs. Or is there a bit more work involved??

ahh that sweet. Cheers for that. I see how it works with the tail pipes bending down too. The real deal would look much smarter than that halfords rubbish. I'm gonna go try my local dealership later on. If not i'll give him an e-mail. Hopefully i'll be as lucky as Tris and theyll have them in stock

(y)

just wait till you hear the price

£45-50 Immsmc

Bit it WILL fit with no modification Im just pondering how mr MOT man will put his probe up it:confused:

(most of the gasses when stationary excape through the slatts in the bottom once driving though it scoops air in and blows it out the back)

A bottle of thread lock is a good idea too

when fitting take your time and nip each grub screw up a bit at a time so it stays centered and level

Aren't the trims the same on all cars tho. Doesn't that mean the MOT man probably hates all puntos with shiney exhausts haha =D. I'll ask them to fit it unless it costs the earth. I fitted a universal backbox to my old car so i can't imagine this being anywhere near as complicated! Thanks for the advice

I suppose the only way to get one really is pay dealer prices? There aren't any on eBay and haven't seen any aftermarkets yet.

EDIT

Oh forgot to ask has anyone had any problems with these regards, vibration noise, falling off etc?

no thats why i said it

most trims bolt onto the lead pipe and just cover the tip the GP trim isn't like that its hard to explain unless you have one in your hand...

no no i understand what you meant, what i was tryin to say was err...hard to explain and quite pointless lol

You wouldnt know it was there unless you were stood outside the car. It does not rattle or make the exhaust sound any different, does that answer your question?

and i got mine on the 29th December 2008, just looked at my invoice with a discount of £22

Ok thats great, good job cus i've been in and ordered it today. I know after market sleeves, on slightly older cars anyway, can cause a bit of rattle...i'll report back when its on, hopefully in a few days when it arrives
