"Check Glow Plugs"??

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows what the glow plugs are? As i picked up my car for the EGR valve doing from fiat last night and "Check Glow Plugs" came flashing up on my screen, im dropping my car off at fiat 2moro morning for them to have a look at it, does anyone know if this will be covered under the 3rd year warrenty?

I have to admit i am very impressed with clemo fiat in cleckheaton, as i picked my car up last night it had just been washed and vacumed out and the car was extreemly dirty before i had taken it in as it hadnt been washed for 3 weeks! Also I am dropping my car off with them a 8am and they said that they will give me a lift to work as i wont have my car! Is that great service or what!

Hmmmm cynic in me says they sound a decent dealer as long as its not them that caused your Glowplug message when they were faffing with the EGR.... Plus its odd if you always drove diesels you didnt know what glowplugs are... maybe its me being pernickety... hope they sort the car for you

shouldn't be anywhere near the glowplugs unless they disconnected glowplug control box to remove EGR but this isn't necessary.

T, just wish they would ask first. I have never in all my years of car ownership let anyone other than me wash my car. There is a definite skill involved in doing it properly to avoid scratches. It never ceases to amaze me when I drive by the roadside car wash guys (generally Polish guys mostly these days) just how owners of really expensive cars let these guys loose with a bucket full of dirty water. You would be as well letting them loose with some fine grit sanding paper. Who the hell washes a car from the bottom up!!
Anyway, my story concerns Taggarts in M........l. My wife's Getz (yes I know, how sad) was due a service to maintain its 5 year warranty. Sodding idiots washed it with what must have been a floor scourer. Result was extensive scratching across bonnet.
