On returning home after viewing a 20+ batch of used 56/07 GPs (not Fiat dealers) yesterday I noticed that many listed were outside the 12month first service timeframe but inside the 18K miles boundary (e.g. 18m old with 12K miles) - is this likely to provoke `negative waves' from the Fiat dealers re warranty issues?

Recalls/Rectification
As a prospective 2nd owner - how do I check for evidence that recall/rectification work has been carried out?

possibly, its clearly stated 18K or 12 months whichever comes first.

Any outstanding recalls are shown on the cars SIGI printout available from dealer, might be a small administration fee.

I'm committed to a 56 GP 1.2/8v Active 5 door (i.e. 18mnth old/12.8k ml) that is an ex-Fiat Fleet vehicle. First reg. was 2006/12/07 & the only mark in the service book is a pre-delivery stamp 2007/01/23.

Given the circumstances & your "possibly" comment - am I left searching for a `user friendly' dealer?

My 54 Mk2B (also ex-Fiat Fleet) acquired at 9mnth old/11K ml came within the (12mnth/12K ml) envelope of service/warranty control - but has never seen the inside of a Fiat dealer shed. Whilst I was perfectly happy going independent with the Mk2B - the shadow cast over the GP model with the number of recall/rectification elements is something else.

My understanding is that some forum readers have pushed (or exceeded) the 12mnth/18K ml envelope & been successful with warranty/rectification work. I would be pleased if those readers would post their experiences in this thread.

consider getting the warrany reinstated...costs about £35.
