anybody know if there will be a t-jet conversion for the 1.4 16v sporting as i am curious to find out. any answers would be appriciated

well in some cases you can convert some cars and have a turbo on them like the gps tjet but i was wondering if anyone had heard anything if it was possible

oh right i got you now, i havent heard anythin but i would have thought it wouldn't be as simple as bolting a turbo on especially with new cars, not like old cars when you could do anything to them. lol, all this new technolodgy, sensors everywhere. lol

well as the tjet is only a 1.4 16v i would have thought it would be possible to convert the standard 1.4 16v standard sporting the same as the engine is near enough the same i think plus you would get an extra gear as the tjet only has 5 gears

better just trade up and get one.thats the 1 and only choice:confused:

I should think it would be far cheaper just to trade your car for a GPS 130. If you start messing with your existing GP do you either think you will be able to sell it in the future or get a reasonable price for it? . Nobody wants to buy a modified newish car. All the warning lights start to flash for me, saying "Thrashed, thrashed, thrashed yet again & clutch worn out..."

Just my tuppence:confused: .

Just trade it in mate,

It's going to cost you a few thousand to get it converted, then you will have alot of teething problems, to which you will have to pay for because your warranty will be non existant.

It will be extremely difficult to sell, would you buy an unreliable 1.4 turbo conversion when you can just pop down to the dealers and get a proper one for the same price anyway?

i think every section gets turbo threads of the same ilk.
its not a case of just bolting it on as its the 'same' engine.
you dont know what internal mods may have been carried out.
if theres a turbo model in the range its always cheaper to buy that.
plus insurance will be cheaper and a higher resale value

Bloody hell Kris - we seem to be in agreement again!

when i had a look at a 1.4 turbo engine it looked a hell of a lot different to the 1.4 16v in my old grande. so much different i thought it must be a 1.4 8v turbo. that would have explained why its only 25bhp more.

price-wise. a trade in is gonna cost you about 5k id imagine. no idea what fitting a turbo would cost. im also curious about what these abarth 'tuning kits' are.
