Finally got round to doing it! Thought I'd add more detail from Punto Po's guide.
I'd like to thank you first though Po, as from your post I knew to just straight away rip the badge off. However, as my car's parked on a busy public road and I didn't fancy being a nuisance, I had a little Google and found the fuse to disconnect the horn. I've circled it in the attachment, taken straight down on the main fuse box to the right of the battery (might be different on different engines, but for my 1.3 this was the case). The Fiat service guide says F33, but F36 seemed to be the one. I've marked it on the picture anyway.
Anyway, after that, the blue badge came peacefully without a fight and the new badge just slotted in without any need for glue even! Very happy with the job
