Following my search to buy a Stilo Abarth, I woudl advise against the Derby and Nottingham Fiat dealers (Co-op Motor Group), had soem problems with Chesterfield and Mansfield although willing seemed to have problems getting my a car to test drive, fairly essential, Derby Co-op hard sell, and silly part ex price

One definitely to avoid is Perry's Fiat, Walton Road, Farlington
Portsmouth, Hampshire PO6 1SR.

Probably best to avoid the whole Perrys Motor Group. Check the web site for the full list of garages www.perrys.co.uk

Although this Fiat dealer is only 4 miles from my front door I take my car to a dealer 30 miles away!

Also avoid Priory Fiat in Manchester. See my other post.

Fiar Stilo Abarth 3dr. Loden Green, Beige Leather, Sky Window, Cold Climate Pack, 17" Alloys, CD Changer. Anticipated Delivery Mid June.

Do not even consider using F.A.S.T. at Stockton on Tees - talk about monkeys!!! See my post about my dealings with them if any convincing is required!

Leaders, Bootle, Liverpool.

Only interested in sale, no customer service. Total lack of communication. It's a god job we really wanted the car and had a guaranteed 18% discount (through work), or we would have walked. He didn't even know about car, ffs!

Me, 'What's this do? How much is that?'

Them, 'Err, dunno.'

I think it's just the way all companies are going nowadays, sign of the times unfortunately. No such thing as customer service anymore. 'Customer is always right', pfft, not anymore. [:(!]

Caledonia Fiat in Warrington, they have denied to Fiat UK that we have taken our car in three times to be fixed with various problems or that they know of any of the problems we have with our Stilo?

Forward Autos in St Helens, they are not a charity and will not make any money out of fixing our car under the Warranty.

Totally uninterested and unhelpful!

Just to follow up on Malcolms e-mail concerning Ilkeston Coop Nottingham - avoid them like you would a rabid dog. I had a problem with my Stilo - 10A fuse kept blowing immediately on fitting - obviously a short circuit somewhere. Becasue this fuse also controls the socket for their diagnostic examiner, Coop decided to put in a higher rated fuse (exactly what you're not supposed to do). Result, smoke started pouring out of the dashboard and they burnt of the on-board computer. What F---wits

Took it AC Williams (Grantham). Whilst they seem to have limited expertise on the Stilo, they got the problem sorted, along with other problems. Much better service, much nicer people.

ps My verdict on the Stilo after 4 months - great design let down by poor reliability. but I still like it

Don't do AHF in Sarisbury Green. Total waste of space. Talked to me like I was something they stood on and still waiting for a phone call from them since April.

And Goddards in Salisbury aren't much better. Can't find the problem with my Punto, didn't contact me when they had the part, fob you off with blah blah blah.

So does anyone know of a dealer that isn't going to rip me off near(ish) Southampton (and rule out Winchester as thats also AHF). Thanks.

I have only had 2 goes with Nottingham's, Nottingham Co-oP and rate them out of 100 at 25. However, Derby's, Nottingham Co-oP is absolutely great. I rate that site out of 100 at getting -36.
What an absolutley pathetic attempt at a garage.
Took my 'New' (in 2001) JTD Elx in with a 'clumk' on the clutch.
So they booked me in for another day and promptly ordered the new clutch 'cable'. It did make me think when I saw the booking. BUT who am I?
Yes on the day I had chosen to have a day off and wait. Two hours later the Service Manager came in and asked me "Who ordered the clutch cable"? I said... "Fiat's Derby Agent"

Moral of the story... 'hydraulic clutch'; I walk away humming to myself.

Since I could write a book of the stupid b######s.
Why not start a list?

Hell, I wish I'd seen it!

Nottingham Fiat are total crap.

They told me i would have a 3 month wait to check out an electrical fault on the fuel injectors.

I asked if i could still drive the car, the lady said well that is up to you but it may cause damage!

For a 30minute test this is silly!

And they wanted to charge £50+vat

I could close this thread with one statement to the title.

ALL OF THEM!

If Any One Can Stir Up This Joint.........Emm Can!
FIAT Stilo 1.6 Sport. Pretty Much Bog Standard Really.
Err, Sill Protectors, Aluminium Foot Pedals, Eibach 30mm Drop Springs, Ambipur Air Freshener.

go to reg vardy stockton fiat they have everything you need including
styling and I.C.E, and for a main dealer are cheap as chips

Jammysod, I went to reg vardy in stockton just after I got my Stilo for some mats. The guy couldn't have been more helpfull, showed me alround, showed me various Styling accessories and said anything I needed, they could get! They even knocked £5 off the price of my mats! Great!

Until I got my Brio catalogue, I looked up the price of my standard mats for which I paid £20 (remember that included a discount!), and found the RRP to be £13(plus change). A little annoyed I rang Reg Vardy to ask their price. I was told £13!

So I pointed out what I had payed, he did apologise and say it was a mistake, which it may have been, but I must say I wasn't impressed![:(!]

So the moral? They ripped me off for £7, and in the process lost possibly hundreds, or even thousands in future business[xx(]

Forward Autos in St Helens, they are not a charity and will not make any money out of fixing our car under the Warranty.

I got my Punto and Stilo from Forward Autos and they have always been great with me... always happy to help. I would always be happy to recommend them
