Hi All,

Can anybody tell me if they have had any experiences with Mangoletsi Fiat & Alfa garage in Knutsford, Cheshire?? I am very keen to find out.

Thanks

Tash

Went for a test drive there once, nothing too special about it really. Gave me reasonable attention. The only annoying thing is that they stick a huge and rediculous branded sticker on anything that comes within a mile of the place. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a stupid sounding name...

Fiat Stilo Abarth 3dr. Loden Green, Beige Leather, Sky Window, Cold Climate Pack, 17" Alloys, CD Changer, 260w 8 Speaker Stereo.

I bought my 2nd hand Stilo from them, I thought that they seemed pretty helpful, and they were the only garage who were interested when I told them I wanted to trade my car in and it was on finance.

Just wondered if anybody had had any after sales bad experiences!! There are a few things I'm not happy about with my Stilo.

I bought my year old Stilo from them, sales were very helpful, but my car has been back to their garage several times, usually for the same problems, I just think they weren't entirely honest with the cars history when they sold it me and stupidly I didn't really ask anything, I've just got my car back last weekend, for some repair jobs and warranty work and all seems well, fingers crossed! Apparently they were on Garages from Hell on Channel 4, I didn't see it, but I was told about it!

Yeah,their after sales is poo!

Red limited edition sporting abarth,lowered35mm,janspeed exhaust,strutbrace,tints,graphics,induction kit,rally mudflaps,neons,lge spec ice,full bodykit,etech spoiler,14 momo alloys,custom no.plate,de badged,abarth badges, smoked front/side indicators,pedal extentions, wheel spacers, front splitters

I Know some one who bought a barchetta off them, and they told him it had abs as he paid for it. It didn't as i looked for him. He took it back and finally got a new barchetta with abs 2 months later, but they removed fuses for central locking as he had not paid for that. Put a 20 amp fuse in and all o.k central locking working fine.Thats just plane imature

Well I've ordered a new Panda from them. Also helped a friend to buy a secondhand Alfa 156 from them back in 05.

I think the picture is a mixed one: some people reckon Mango's to be one of the best - if not the best - Alfa dealers in the UK. (Warning: one can achieve this status simply by refraining from actual criminality and not deliberately damaging customer's cars!!!)

The sales people seem keen to deal and we got a good deal on the Alfa with some negotiating. I'm very pleased with the deal on the Panda (but this was via a broker).

Can't really comment on the Service Dept as have had no cause to use it: but judging from the Alfa newsgroups/forums there are some bad experiences out there but also some good ones. The Parts Department has an excellent reputation.
The only annoying thing is that they stick a huge and rediculous branded sticker on anything that comes within a mile of the place.

Yes.. one of their people even told me that the sticker adds to the value of the car and that people are prepared to pay to have it put on!!! It's all about celebrating their status as the UK's oldest (since 1924) Alfa dealer. So you wind up driving a Mangoletsi 156 rather than an Alfa 156. I guess the sticker will be even more OTT when affixed to my Fiat, er, Mangoletsi Panda....

I bought my Stilo 1.9JTD secondhand from them. All I can say is that make sure that everything the salesman says they will do is in writing. He promised a number of things at the point of sale, but tried to wriggle out of most of them later including puting a year's MOT on. They did eventually sort it out after some persistance. Personally I have found Caledonia at Salford much better & cheaper.:)

I've had loads of dealings with their service dept. Took my stilo in for wheel alignment and squeaking/groaning suspension. Curtesy cars are filthy and no fuel in them-whats new there then :) Got my car back and £145 later still got squeaking/groaning suspension, they say nothing wrong! They sent the car to another place down the road for alignment as they said they don't do them??? how strange is that! The so called tecchies in the workshop only spent 25 mins looking at it, but the billed me for a whole hour-awaiting a reply from service manager on that one. Had a prob with airbag warning light-but followed advice on here and all's okay-think i was a bit enthuiastic with the hoover under the drivers seat and moved the sensor wires:D

My 1st multiwagon was off them... it had 10k on it and was one of the 1st cars in the country, they said it had been their show car and a long term cuctomer had then bought it off them (all fair enough you think).
On inspection after driving 150 miles to see the car it wasnt even cleaned or ready for me to test drive, the car had trim missing and and a water mark on the roof, I didnt mind all this as its all fixable and discussed how they would sort it if I bought the car.
I hung about ages to test drive it as the guy there was late to work, once in the car it all felt fine and what I expected having tested a few other local cars.
I discussed price as you do and they wouldnt drop the price so I got the tax and a full tank of fuel added into the deal. the jobs to be done were a new xenon as it didnt level and the paint work de-chipped and wheels de-kerbed, also the roof liner sorted and a leak if any investigated.
All fine and dandy you think as I drove off and would pick the car up a week later.
Phoned the garage up to check all was well the day before collecting and told the light was a problem and had to come from italy.. bugger thanks for ringing so I cancelled my trip and waited the week or so they said.
Never during this period did I get a call to update me I always had to ring them and then hope the guy would ring me back from my messgages left.
I think it was a full onth before I actually got to go and pick the car up.
On collection the car wasnt even washed let alone valeted inside plus the painting wasnt sorted on the car... I went balistic!
After much dwelling I decided to stay with the car and not start the search again.
I had the car delivered to my house by a driver from the garage .. all the jobs were done but by god I would never ever go back to what I thought would of been a 1st class garage.
HAd it been a car I knew I could find easliy somewhere else I would of put a brick through the garage window and walked a long time before I got the keys for it... just shows the love of these faultiwagons huh!
