Introduction
Hello from down under!
Its been a while since my last post, stumbled by the website again after somebody requested me do make some LED wing mirror indicators.
Picked this up in Sydney just after Xmas to do a road trip back up to Brisbane then inland to Dalby where I'm based now.
Its a 1989 Nissan Pintara U12 - a Nissan Bluebird back at home.

Under the bonnet is a KA24D, SOHC 12V producing 128BHP coupled to a 4 Speed Automatic with Overdrive.
Its in pretty good condition for its age, few stone chips on the bonnet, headliner is bit saggy but overall its not too bad.
I had looked at serveral different cars that where in my budget, 1989 Holden Commodore 3.0 V6 with and LPG conversion was at the top of the list until we discovered the air con didnt work and needed a new compressor.
Another option was a 1998 1.8 Mazda 323, but again the air con didnt work and it had a weeping sump.
So the Pintara won me over as it had the longest Rego(Tax/3rd Party Insurance) of the lot - 9 months left, had just passed its RWC (MOT/NCT) and the air con worked - nice n cool!
Was a nice driver, good and smooth and didnt feel like an old car. All the electrics worked apart from no speakers in the front.
All was going good, until....pulled the car up to the house to pack it as we headed on our road trip, then about 30mins later went to start it again and nothing. Eventually got it started with the help of a few mate, intially thinking it was just a loose wire on the starter.
Rest of the trip north was pretty good, nice and comfy, not to bad on petrol. Eventually made it to Byron bay, no issues here then onto Noosa where the car wouldnt start again. Again fiddled with the starter wires and eventually it would turn over.
Made it back to Dalby and started work, eventually found a good 2nd hand starter motor and that sorted that.
A bit of vibration started to appear and kept getting louder and louder, which turned out to be an Engine Mount, replaced the bushen and now its nice and quiet again.
A few other issues with dirty connections on the Auto box, few rubber seals missing but bit of contact cleaner soon sorted that, then taped up the connectors.
I have no plans to do anything to it, kept it until June or July then sell it for something else is the plan at the minute.
Almost 300,000 up on the clock, done about 5,000 in the first few weeks of owning it!
