PS3 out sells Xbox.

New stats from from two separate sources have stated that Sony's PS3 console has now passed Microsoft's Xbox 360 in terms of total unit sales across the globe.

not a surprise really, problem with x box is two fold, ps3 has the better games, gran turismo 5 etc and the build quality makes xbox look like a piece of tat.

I had a second hand white xbox from game, had to get it changed three times as kept getting the RROD. in the end just sold one of them as it scratched a disc and got jumped on. only disc drive broke, sold it on ebay to someone who hacks and uses downloaded games.

mrs bought me the new black 4gb one. perfect. wifi n all.

xbox is built DOWN to a price using basically sub standard materials. the ps3 is built with proper quality parts.

bloke in game said if xbox was built to same standard as ps's, then it would be well over £100 more than a ps3. so want quality buy a ps3, want a better, bigger network of friends and gamers buy a black xbox 360

Quite at odds with my experience in real life. Since I only know a couple people with PS3s but loads with Xboxs.

and what consoles do you own now?
Ive yet to have a 360 fail(from 3) or for that matter PS3
ask all those PS3 owners with the YLOD about those quality parts

We have 3 PS3's, one in my lounge and 1 in each of my lads bedrooms, never had a problem with any of them.

Had 2 Xbox's, first had RROD so I scrapped it, second also had RROD but a mate brought some sort of kit off eBay and fixed it so I sold it the next day.

Also have 2 Wii, great for the kids. Never had a problem with them either.

Would I buy another Xbox .... No
Would I buy another PS3 .... Yes
Would I buy another Wii .... Yes

think i'm on my 4th or 5th ps3. one was a faulty drive (when they sent it to me!) the rest were YLOD. the new ones don't seem to have any problems.

Surely the higher sales is a result of finally a few decent games, and lots of people now have an xbox already?

The reason the Xbox sells is obvious(price). So for the PS3 to out-sell it is testament to the PS3's quality considering its almost double the price.

To be fair, I OWN Both - and my preferred console - the 360 ... explain that eh.

At the end of the day, you won't change your mind on this issue, so there is ZERO point in even trying to reason with you

WOULD i buy another ps3, if i could afford to waste that much cash on console. would i buy another xbox, definatly. old white ones are ****e, new black ones are good. better network of gamers online, most who use for online gaming are xboxers.

rrod, what your neighbour/friend did was by the x clamp kit, replaces the cheap flimsy aluminum x pattern brackets under the circuit board, the heat sink is the issue. one of mine used to restart after cooling down for an hour. but worth buying for pence on ebay and doing the fix and reselling on if you're good at that sort of thing.

never had an issue with my ps3, completed grand theft auto four and then sold it on to save gathering dust as only played that game then never touched it. always on me xbox. time on hands LOL. black ops rules.

The online experience on 360 is far superior to the ps3. Fair enough the early 360's were very temperamental and most people have had the rrod but ps3 is only a little bit better, the wii is by far the most reliable.

I would never swap my 360 for a ps3. I hardly know anybody with ps3's either.

The thread is about the PS3 out selling the Xbox, not which one you, I or anyone else prefer so lets leave that to the zillion other threads on here.

I think the fact that it can out sell its competitor says something about the PS3 especially when its competitor costs half as much. A difficult thing to do by any means.

I've had the RROD once, Microsoft took it away, fixed it and I've never had a single problem since.

personally i believe the only and most attractive point of PS3 is that the network is free. and lets face it these days the only reason a lot of people buy a games console is because they wanna go online and whoop/get pwned by there mates on COD.
my personal choice would be Xbox though purely because all the good games on PS3 are on Xbox. and Xbox has Halo. nuf said

xbox defo better for online gaming, but didn't realise ps3 was free for online. still rather play the xbox as all me mates have that.

hate halo, and would only buy ps3 for granturismo 5

I bet with the whole japan tragedy that sales there will plummet for consoles, in other words the ps3 and wii, 360 sales there are almost non-existent.

PS3 out sells Xbox.
