ignoring that it's not by the makers of the original which was probably one of the best pc games i've played, being readily open to mods, and new content creation...

anyway it's out today and i'm looking to get this for ps3(pc isn't good enough), maybe not now as cash is tight, but is anyone getting this on any format? and what are your thoughts on it? as it does look pretty good, from clips/pics of it.

It's absolutely awesome!!
I only heard about it around 5 months ago from an online friend on CoD4 but I was hyped since I watced a few vids.
I'm up to the 8th mission now and loved everymin.
Gameplay is very realistic, coming from cod4 and reminds me of insurgency mod for PC.
Its literally 1 shot one death most of time and you do rely on your teammates a lot in game. I have only tried online for like 10 mins as I've been too occupied with the single player, usually other way round with me. but it does really grip you. Your first ever air strike will amaze you! Looks amazing and the smoke that stays around for minutes is something i have never personally seen in game before with that effect reducing your vision to barely nothing.
oh and add me on ps3, same name as on here :D
 
Getting delivered soon. Think it will come friday sometime. Not bothered about length of game as it's costing me £17.99 from amazon.

will do bud. Hope it plays better than arma 2 that game had so much potential but is buggy as hell. Was working ok till I patched it. The the thing stopped working.
 
I got it too....only played multiplayer campaign but it works pretty well...Pretty addicted so far tho like the freedom after the corridor filled with enemies of most shooters (they try and make you think you've got a choice but you haven't you kill those guys you go to the point) it's good to be able to avoid patrols and not run and gun everything.

Also I'm glad I got it on discount from work because i'm going through it at a rate of knots but it'll make a good high value trade against forza 3 when it arrives.

Edit: anyone who wants a bit more gameplay type in Gam3sNightVision into the code entry part of the game to get an extra mission.

Not a fan of it at all. Even single player is dull, Feels like COD4 too much which isn't a bad thing but its trying to be serious which IS a bad thing.

Loved original far far better. spent many weeks of my life playing that and making custom LAN party missions in the mission editor :D.

Ok annoyed with it now...stuck on the sixth mission can get into the refinery set my charges and get out again without causing an alarm. Only problem being my game is glitched for some reason so I can now walk through walls etc a side effect of which appears to be my C4 doesn't work on anything...it started because you always stand up automatically when you set C4 and I was lying under a truck so he stood up through it..and reloading previous save isn't fixing it..

I got up to it proper stealthing my ass off, got in "an alarm has been raised". Tried several times doing it without alerting the alarm but figured it couldn't be done (thinking though, I didn't try crawling in mgs style lol) So just ran in, set the charges and buggered off in a jeep with my homies and went to the rendevous point and chillaxed in my chopper,
Weird about the glitching though.

Mine being the 360 version I get an achievement for destroying everything in the place...I.e. the fuel trucks and the pipes you get enough charges to do the 3 trucks then leave and set them off from the distance. I found that if I leave my team and go in alone then it was easy to go in from the left side gap in the wall pick off the guy beside the pump looking to the front of the base then go left towards the trucks and pick off the two truck drivers and set the charges and go out the same way mainly crawling however it makes no odds as my charges don't do any damage. Have to start again i think which is very poor.
