Aspatria? where the hells that iv never heard of it ill definetly be up for some meets later in the year once its properly road worthy.

yeah id def be up for the trip (if the punto could make it). On a sadder note i might have a blown HG or a turbo issue. Not too sure at the moment.

I dont know for certain yet but i might just be being over cautious i found some gunk in the induction system none on the oil cap and none in the coolant tank.

Its a mustardy gunk like with a head gasket and the coolant hasnt moved since i got the car and the only oil loss has been throught a leaking rocker cover gasket.

mustardy gunk wouldnt be in the induction alone if it as the HG no coolant loss or oil loss says to me you are worrying over nothing on the HG :)

where on the induction di you find it?

any strange smokes or loss of power?

I found it just before the throttle body after i replaced a pipe to fit the D/v Tonight there was a sudden random loss of power and a bit of a dodgy idle for about 5 minuites. I hope your right about the HG.

I was thinking that I think i might have fitted the dump valve wrong though so im going to attempt to fix it tommorow thatl give me a chance to have a quick ( awkward ) look at the turbo :) Thanks for the help and reassurance :)

Billy, if you're needin help, drop me a PM.
I'm tomorrow (Saturday) & as Troon's only 10- 15mins from meI could come n have a look see what we can do.
Let me know either way mate.

Thanks for the offer :) I managed to get it to run better the gunk in the induction system seems to have been old oil i found more but it was just grey gooey stuff and my rocker cover gasket leak is getting bad. Anyway from what i managed to see i found 2 problems
1. Power steering pumps on its way out
2. clutch is squeaking.
which isnt too bad considering it just ticked over 143,000.
That engine bay pic is from a few days after i picked it up it had a massive piece of metal ducting running to it but i ripped that out cause it was full of holes and to replace the filter.
Paydays the 18th so the passenger side floors getting done and im going to give it a service and get the gasket.

Where you taking it to get the work done??
I can recommend T Jhonstone, on Dukes Road in Troon, very fair with prices & Honest, which is something you don't hear about nowdays with Garages.
