hi all, need some advice if i may,
Bravo 1.2 , for a while now i have noticed that the rpm doesn't always return to idle when putting clutch in whilst slowing down. it will sit at 1500 or a 1000 for a while before returning to 700.
The garage said it may be the ICV?

i had the car serviced last week and since then it only starts if i give it a touch of throttle. without the throttle it just cranks over for a minute. When it does start the rpm sometimes drops as low as 500 rpm, this sounds like the symptoms of the ICV sticking.

Really asking, can this cause the probs listed, is it better to replace or clean?

When the rpms do not fall down, is the engine warmed up or not ?

my guess would be idle air control valve pal. next time the revs stay quite high immediately put it back into gear and let the revs go up a bit, then take it out of gear, and see if it returns to idling revs normally. that would show that there may be an intermittent fault with the idle air valve.
